I’ve been going to Hair Candy and using Hair Candy as my supplier for my small business for over 10 years.Shakira has trained her staff so well, everybody is a dream to work with and the hair is unbeatable in quality. It may be a little more expensive, but between the service and longevity of the hair used, it’s worth every cent!I recommend Hair Candy to everyone I meet.

Absolutely amazing service and hair. I haven’t walked out of a hairdresser is a long time and loved my hair so much. Molly was phenomenal both as a beautiful welcoming person and hair wizard. My colour (blonde) is amazing. she listened and deciphered exactly what I was wanting and exceeded my expectations without jeopardising the health of my hair. Extension placement (weft) bang on and cut in perfectly and comfortable with high quality hair. Highly recommend

Really horrible experience.I had been going here for some time and note that all the amazing staff seem to leave.Yesterday I went in for my regular service which is typically $129 to express move up my extensions - I was 5 minutes late, my bad...I then waited a further 30 mins when the new staff member came to advise me that this same service would now be $270.I had already forfeited a $100 deposit (because I couldn't attend the first appointment I'd made, and wasn't able to give 48 hours notice, so that's fine)However at this point the real cost to me is going to be $370 for the move up, if I go ahead with this. And I'm also going to be late because we are 30 mins in and haven't started.I asked her to help me understand why the fee was more than double for the same treatment I'd had prior. She basically said the difference was because I had taken my extensions out prior to the appointment (which I had done before) to do a deep conditioning treatment, the fee was basically doubled. None of this was different to my prior service with them.I had already taken time off work and sat there for 30 minutes and honestly, I really wanted to have my service, but I declined to go ahead at this point because the whole thing left me feeling super uncomfortable, and confused, and deceived.I will not be returning.I really hope they take this feedback on board as an opportunity to improve.

They are thorough and attentive to your wants and needs and they do an amazing job, you leave the salon feeling like a million dollars if you are considering getting your hair done here, book yourself in right away, you won't regret it!

I’ve been sitting on this review for a while, but after everything I’ve been through with my hair the past few months, I figured it’s time to put pen to paper. Not to mention the fact that I want to cry every time I have to wash and dry my now sad looking mullet.I attended the Greenslopes salon in July last year after my regular hairdresser of 5 years went on MAT leave. I’d been doing my research, and following Hair Candy and some of their hairdressers for a while, so I felt confident that I had found someone who would look after my hair.My consultation appointment happened during the evening, I met Louise my soon-to-be hairdresser, and they managed to get me in the following week for a full head of micro-foils, and to install rows of weft extensions.Overall, my first appointment was fine. Albeit being a 9am appointment, the salon was filthy. Tumbleweeds of hair on virtually every surface, weft thread and discarded beads all over the floor, and a layer of dust across everything. Okay, nobody cleaned the salon last night. These things happen.Colour wise, my hair looked stunning when I left, I was very happy. After heading home from my first appointment, my hair seemed fine, the wefts seemed tight, but I was assured this was normal. Fast forward a week, and my newly installed wefts started creating tension sores in multiple places across my scalp. I went in for a check, only to be assured this was totally normal, and it would calm down over time. I can assure you now, that this is NOT normal, and you should not be getting weeping tension sores in your wefts AT ALL. I stuck it out.My next appointment, in 5 weeks time was a crown of foils, all over toner and a weft move up. Back in the chair, another early morning appointment. The salon is again filthy, hair everywhere, thread everywhere. Gross.Louise proceeded to foil my crown, then tone my whole head and re-install my wefts. All seemed fine and I left. A couple of days later, I sat in my car prior to my appointment and ran a brush through my hair. Well. I’ve never seen so much hair fallout in my life. I was covered in blonde hair, broken off, all over my lap. I assumed was my extensions. How wrong I was. A few days later, I was back in the chair as my wefts seemed to be falling out. The installed beads had slipped almost an inch down my hair and a row of my weft was falling out. This was removed, and placed back in by another hairdresser. I did mention at the time about my hair fall I had had, and the girl I had seen said she would note it down in the files.Over the coming weeks, my fallout got worse and worse. A week later, I paid a friend (another hairdresser) to remove my wefts so we could assess what was actually going on. What a mess. I had a mullet. Broken off to a million different lengths.I had been given a chemical haircut. I’m not sure what happened, but my guess would be that there was a developer mix up in my toner, and that was what had resulted in the disaster that now sits atop my head. I know accidents happen, but this was just beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I’ve been a blonde almost my entire life, and have had the healthiest blonde hair that entire time, I’m very light to begin with, and take extremely good care of my hair. I come from a hairdressing family and we’ve owned salons previously, so I completely understand the processes used to achieve great colour and healthy hair and to manage a clean and hygienic salon. Mix ups like this, shouldn’t happen. When I contacted the salon via email about my hair, they said they could arrange for me to come in so they could have a look at my hair, and would offer me a free K18 hair treatment. It’s safe to say I haven’t been back and I won’t be back.I’m still with-mullet 6 months on, and it will take me years to grow back the hair that I’ve lost. Not to mention the approx. $2.5K I spent having my hair done with them. *sigh*

All of the stylists are amazing and make you feel so comfortable so you’re really spoilt for choice! Molly is absolutely fabulous and did a custom root stretch on my extensions to my natural roots so perfect, like I had to feel where they were they were so well blended! She’s also lovely to chat to and really explains everything but also asks for your preference on your extension placement. Don’t sleep on getting an appointment with her as I’m sure she’s gonna be so popular and to get in with soon!
