Pleasant country pub. Food was good. Tables were sticky and needed cleaning, hence markdown for service and atmosphere.

Dined in and had chicken satay, very nice... specials menu that was on our table was non existent... So I asked some questions, guy couldn't answer me properly... Otherwise everything else was fine

I have been a repeat customer over many years. This place has good service and a great atmosphere; however, the food lacks consistency, and many dishes seem hit and miss.Last Friday, we went in as a group of six. The orders consisted of Thai Beef Salad, 2x Pork Ribs & Sweet Potato Fries, Calamari, a southern fried chicken burger, and a Chicken Souvlaki. The ribs appeared to have been cooked in a crematorium and pulled moments before turning to ash. While they had a nice flavour, they were rather dry along the ends in particular. The fries fared little better. The slaw on the side lacked any real flavour and was more of an afterthought than a complimentary pairing with the dish.The souvlaki wrap may as well have been made of cardboard. The consistency wasn’t far off it. The salad items inside were worse. Some of the onion chunks were almost the size of lemon wedges. Any bigger and they may as well uproot the whole thing and slap it in there.Chicken burger was bland. While the chicken was moist, there was almost no flavour whatsoever.No complaints with the calamari or Thai beef - both were excellent. The latter in particular has always been great.Every meal could be a winner here, but the cooks really need to work on their consistency for that to happen.

The steak was good, it was big and a fair amount of chips in the side.While I think the price is alittle high, it's pretty much standard with any place serving steak.The inside is alittle dated but these one star reviews are alittle rough.The staff were nice, the food was good and served at a reasonable time. No complaints, I will return

What has happened? We have been twice in a few weeks, thinking that the first time, the poor quality food, was just a once off. However, the second time the food was much worse and very small quantity. It's incredibly disappointing. We are locals and have gone regularly over the years but won't be going again until we know that they have improved the food quality. In case we thought perhaps we were twice unlucky, our neighbours also reported poor quality food when they went last week. Whatever has been changed at this pub is not working. Please improve your food to the enjoyable good quality it previously was. At this time I would not recommend this pub. Such a shame as in the past it had earned a high reputation, sadly, that is not the case any more.

I’ve been to the pub twice in the last year. First meal being a steak it was OK, second meal being a Thai Beef Salad, absolutely awful, deep fried beef strips? Interesting.Kids room is dated, still has a box TV and no play ground, half finished renovations throughout, and the decor is well dated.It’s time the pub looks at a good Reno and menu update. Being a small town, I hope the owners have this in the pipeline, it would bring the venue back to life for another 20 years.

Lovely meal. Chicken parmi was huge and tasted great.Not the biggest selection. Of drinks.Tables and chairs could be updated, as could the bar area, looked the same as when visited 5 years ago. Toilets could really do with an update!Staff seemed friendly though.

There are pubs and there are pubs. This is the latter. No plated up meal that covers a 20c piece with a story about how the chicken was raised on the sunny side of the barn. The Banno does meals that cover every inch of the plate and served blunt cutlery from the 80’s. Classic pub. 5 stars and anyone who rated it less can pack their namby VW and get run out of town. Don’t change. Long live the regional pub that hasn’t been done up since the 70’s.
