Great local watering hole! The chef is fantastic, you have to try his version of the chicken nuggets and jalepino pizza bread!. Great steaks too

Booked in for Mothers Day - took 10 mins for someone to seat us, table had been given to someone else. Not enough staff to serve everyone. Waited 40 mins for meal. Only got it coz we enquired what was going on Slack as.Not happy at all.

Food was amazing! Have come for dinner a few times with large groups and all the meals have been great. Staff are very friendly and very accommodating. New management has made all the difference.

The pub is small and cramped, closes late but can't get in past 11 even if you want to talk to a mate that's inside they have to leave the venue and go home. Food isn't good the atmosphere is nice but it should be taken to a pub that is well managed not by someone that should be in a nursery home.

Went in on St Patricks day for dinner 17th March. Dining room was full and they fitted us in for dinner. We had entreè mains and sweets. Huge sized meals and couldnt fault a thing. Service was fabulous even though they were clearly under the pump. As a chef, it was so nice to go out and have excellent food at a great price. Definately a pleasant change. Thankyou guys

Finally found what we’ve been looking for in Mitchell Shire. It’s not fancy but the staff/team were very friendly & helpful and the meals a good size and very tasty. We’ll definitely be back.We’ve lived in the area for 20 years and have struggled to find a good old style value for money pub bistro menu. It may not be for everyone but the Royal Oak Bistro is not trying to be a fancy restaurant, and definitely not charging patrons Melbourne restaurant prices for a basic meal like many other venues around the area seem to do.
