I am a professional photographer looking at trying my hand in film. I completed the half day workshop with Alex. It was extremely helpful, I now feel like I have the skills to use a film camera and process my film. Alex was very patient and knowledge. He has also been very helpful with questions both before and after the workshop. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to learn film photography and processing.

An incredibly insightful and passion provoking dark room course. I love film photography but had never set foot in a dark room. Alex tailored the workshop perfectly to provide a really in depth but not overwhelming experience to suit my skill level. We had great conversations about photography and film development. He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and encouraged questions often showing me their outcomes practically. I’d really encourage anyone with a interest in film photography to do this course. I received it as a gift and can only sing praises. Really keen to get stuck into developing my own film now.Thank you Alex.

With no previous experience, I attended a one day, one-on-one, Darkroom Printing workshop and found it to be both excellant value and very enjoyable. Alex is very experienced and a good communicator. He was welcoming and happy to share his photographic knowledge. We selected one of my own negatives and he took me through the process of traditional darkroom printing - split grade printing - with testing followed by several prints - each one building on the previous until we had a print that I was quite pleased with. I was able to take eight prints home with me, along with a new-found knowledge of the darkroom and darkroom processes.Thank you Alex for a very enjoyable and beneficial experience and for your willingness to share.

I recently attended the Black and White Film Developing Workshop with Alex. I'm new to film photography (self taught) and found the workshop was perfectly tailored to the inidividual experience of myself & the other attendee. Alex has vast knowledge on film photography. Learning to develop your own film was an incredible experience which I hope to eventually implement in my own home.I had a brilliant day learning with Alex, and would recommend this course for all photographers - absolute beginners especially.

I have always really liked larger format cameras but wasn’t familiar with using this type of camera. I searched online and came across Alex Bond photography workshop. He offer an Introductory View Camera Workshop. Even though he was based in Perth, I was happy to have travelled all the way from Sydney to attend. It was a workshop that I wanted to attend for over 4 years and I am glad I was able to finally make it. The workshop was amazing and I have learnt so much from Alex. He was very informative and knowledgeable and was able to explained how to set up and use the view camera clearly. Alex even went above and beyond when I advised him that I had a darkroom at home, he went on to give me information on split grade printing which is normally further advanced than what he would usually covered.Overall I felt I came away with lots of new techniques and information that will add to my photography skills.Thank you Alex for a wonderful two days, I highly recommend attending any of Alex’s workshops! I wish you all the best and hope you will be able to continue to share your skills with other photography enthusiasts!

I was reintroduced to black & white film processing in Alex's 3-hour workshop. I booked a workshop as I hadn't done any film processing in 20 years, and I wanted to introduce my 15yr old goddaughter to film photography.Alex was very patient with my goddaughter and spent time helping her to understand the focus on the SLR we borrowed for her. It was great of Alex to allow us to do both 120 and 35mm processing as I had brought my 120 camera with me and wanted to learn with that.Even though we were running a little behind time Alex was accommodating and didn't rush which meant that we could see the process through and gain a great understanding.I'll post some of the results from the workshop when I get my new negative scanner. ;-)I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alex's workshops to anybody interested in learning more about film. His experience and professionalism will guide you and answer any of your questions.

Though I have been developing my own films now for a few months, I had the opportunity to spend half a day with Alex to receive the benefit of his decades of professional practice developing black and white films. Alex catered for my needs within the workshop and I left with a better understanding of my chemistry, mixing and the film developing processes. Two weeks later, I attended Alex's weekend long Large Format Photography Workshop. During these two days, Alex took me through many aspects of view camera with theories followed by hands-on. As it's been said the haha moment" for me was the darkroom processes. Being able to print my final images as I see fit using the dodge and burn techniques

Alex offers a Complete Film Darkroom Workshop (1 day) which I attended yesterday. As a complete novice to the darkroom and 35mm format (B & W) this course has given me the confidence to pursue this beautiful art form. With a lifetime of experience and a natural ability to teach, combined with a patient but thoroughly professional manner, Alex provides by way of this course an inspirational stepping stone toward a lifelong creative pursuit or a professional career. Do yourself a favour. If you or your teenager have ever thought about the hands on approach to shooting film, developing negatives and creating prints from the same, then this is the course for you.......

I have been taking photographs for more than 45 years, and took the plunge to try developing film for the first time with Alex's Film and Darkroom Workshop. What a fantastic experience, Alex and his wife made me so welcome, his relaxed approach made everything so easy to follow. The darkroom was an amazing insight to the magic of film processing, Alex can make the magic happen. Thanks again.

I took the Complete Film Darkroom Workshop with Alex last weekend. We started by having a photo walk around the Canning River Regional Park, before returning to Alex’s home and studio to develop the film we took. While the developed film was drying we had a lovely lunch. In the afternoon we returned to the darkroom to make several prints from the shots we took earlier in the day. I had an absolutely brilliant time and love the prints I made. They are already hanging up around my house. Alex was so generous with his knowledge and I am now confident to develop film of my own at home. Unfortunately I don’t have a place for a darkroom in my house but can’t wait until I can access one to trying to make more prints of my own. Can’t recommend this enough. Alex is an excellent teacher with an obvious love of film photography and the day was well set out. I am a beginner photography and I learnt so much!
