Reis’ Report app has had a positive impact on the way in which we report student achievement. Reis was able to design a functional app from some specs. we put together with the aim of streamlining the way in which we write, edit and print the learning reports to share with our students and their families. The reports produced are very professional and we have had a very positive reaction from the community as a result of the contemporary design of the reports themselves.The FileMaker app he designed has reduced the amount of time we spend on the process of reporting; it has resulted in the saving of at least a month of effort each year over the course of each end-to-end reporting period. We have managed to reduce the amount of time spent on reporting as well as the amount of wasted paper in the process. His app is user friendly and has evolved over the course of the project as we have provided feedback to improve the final product. His ability to identify the workflow problems we had in using the previous Access db and solve them is owing to his capacity to listen and then work towards meeting our needs with clever design and functional workflow solutions. The FileMaker app has allowed us to move away from Windows specific devices to browser and mobile solutions irrespective of the operating system and device. This freedom has allowed us to take the next steps in our staff BYOD programme and removed many dependencies and commitment to ageing legacy systems.Reis has added additional value by accomodating requests for various enhancements to the original specs. His ability to plan for and execute these solutions quickly has meant that we have not had any downtime. This was crucial during the COVID lockdown where we had to move to the FileMaker solution while we worked remotely to enable us to continue our work. We were able to continue to report a full semester owing to Reis’ commitment to delivering a workable solution in a short period with support to deliver reports to students as per our reporting schedule.Reis’ ability to create using FileMaker has enabled the College to explore additional avenues for developing the Report app further and we see other positive applications for this development. We have no hesitation in recommending Reis for any project that you may have and we are moving forward with him in the development of other projects that will benefit the College.
