Absolutely useless, I have been a customer for the past 3 years. Recently they double debited my account. I have spoken to their call centre multiple times, they admit they double debited me but won’t give me my money back.

I tried to join Energy Australia and was told to go to another retailer because my credit check was declined even though I got a credit report and called to see if there was anything wrong with it and everything was fine. I was still declined to be a member of Energy Australia, worse treatment.

I had a service with this company which I closed on April 2022 since vacating the property. I have been harassed with bills for the past year despite contacting them multiple times and sending in documentation. They continue to say someone will get back to me but the issue remains unsolved. I have now had to contact an ombudsmen to resolve the complaint. Would not recommend using this provider!!!!!

If I could give a zero I would. One of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. On hold for over 30mins, speak to someone, then I get disconnected. Energy Australa doesn't bother to call you back. I then proceed to call again one hold for a further 30 mins and get disconnected again. What a joke of a company. Don't waste your time or money with these people.

After reporting I hadn’t been given my bill at the end of April I was told to wait could take 21 days to read the meter. When I said I had a smart meter installed and after the weeks of drama to get it working I wanted it checked. No he said wait. So I waited 3 weeks no bill so I rang to be told there was a problem and it would need to be investigated. Had the first guy given a dam would of been helpful. Complaint went in. Spoke to complaints very apologetic but you got to wait. I’ve since been issued 6 bills with different amounts from a credit of nearly $200 to I owe $750. Back on the phone. Nope your bill hasn’t been issued sending screenshots of each email. Nope that’s a glitch, not visible on this end. The app never matches these bills for 2-3 days. All of which are an estimate. Never had to beg to pay a bill. Convenient my contract is up very soon and an estimate is useless switching providers

After 7 years of being a loyal customer, paying my bill every time before the due date... when my plan ended they decided to put me on a plan that is 20% above the market rate. This is how they treat you, they have lost a customer forever.

Absolutely incompetant. Non-stop issues trying to set up payment plans. Then when we move house and cancel our account, they continue to send us emails about not paying plans. Our account was massively in credit and they still tried to increase our payments so our money can sit in their accounts earning interest. Gas account was $200+ in credit and they tried to double our payment.Will never use again.

After TWO YEARS of trying to find resolution for a billing error, on which we apparently used 26576% more gas (not a typo) than previous bills, we are still nowhere.Energy Australia have sent two debt collectors after us, and have made it our responsibility to work with their provider (Jemena) to resolve our issue, as well as with the debt collectors.Customer Service have been unhelpful, the last call there was a lot of gaslighting (no pun intended), and magically, every time we call there is no real record of what we have discussed before.They even tried to block us from changing providers to Simply Energy. We won that battle via the Ombudsman, and surprise, Simply Energy were easily able to notice the issue and error with our gas and not charge us ridiculous amounts, even with the error not being fixed. They used logic, reason and morals to recognise there was an obvious error in the gas system and not fleece us - instead just charging a reasonable estimate until Jemena could finally fix the meter (Jemena NEVER fixed, but that's a one star for them on another review).Energy Australia on the other hand, they are quite happy to bully us for the money, regardless of how obvious it is that ONE STOVE in an apartment does not use $1500 worth of gas in one quarter.Go with ANY other provider over these guys - they were generally pretty expensive as well, so not sure what the premium rate gets you - definitely not customer service.

Terrible !!!! Disgusting Service and will take your money incorrectly - do not setup a DD with these guys because you will not be able to get it back - I wanted to give them a minus 10 star but unfortunately google only allows me to give a 1 star as a minimum.They accidentally transferred my Account to another retailer no correspondence from either retailer- 6 months later I receive a letter from origin saying I was going to be cut off - after 4 hours of on hold phone calls Energy Australia finally admit that it was their mistake and that they'll request account back - cannot speak to supervisors or anyone that can make a decision. When the bill arrived it didn't include the QLD Solar Rebate - I rang and after another 2 hours of on hold calls had the bill put on hold - was told I had to go back to Energex to fill in a form to request it back - energy Australia couldn't do that - I also had to have it witnessed by a JP - more time. Energex promptly reinstated the Solar Bonus back to the time of retailer transfer.Then Energy Australia took the money from my account without the QLD solar Energy Bonus - approx $650 too much - more 1 hour calls to Energy Australia - got absolutely no where - no supervisor will speak to you - just referred to a case manager who will ring back unannounced from an unknown number in the next 4-5 business days - referring the case to the Ombudsman

Shocking service. I have been a loyal customer for over 11 years. Apparently my plan expired last year. They put me on their most expensive plan without consulting with me. They sent me an invoice, which was double what I used to pay.I contacted the customer service team more than 10 times. Logged a complaint online. Nothing… no response.On my last phone call, one of their resolution team gave me a lecture that the energy prices are going up and I have to pay the invoice. No acknowledgment of the fact I should have been contacted or the fact I could have picked a different plan.I will be going to another provider.Stay away from EnergyAustralia.
