Old lady with very poor English trying to sell behind the counter, had to ask the same question several times to understand the answer, turned rude very quickly, finished up just leaving

Very friendly service and l had one of their chunky beef pies and it was delicious, l'm saying, don't need sauce delicious.

Great staff, great pies and cakes and the best rye sourdough I've ever eaten. Country bake house feel and tastes.

This bakery is great. Everything looks so yummy. Their chocolate Croissants are the best I've had. The people working there are just lovely.

The ladies in this shop and the produce are the best! Today at 4pm on a Sunday I was without a birthday cake for my husband.... the lovely lady iced and creamed a sponge for me on the spot and even threw in a treat for my husband! She saved the day and it was delicious and very well priced! Thank you!!!

It was my first time, bought a sourdough but it tasted like plain bread. I think they use same dough for all type of breads.However, I like the vibe and ot bread looked very fresh and tasty, but not mine

Return visit to this classic bakery today for some buns and cakes to go with a charcoal chicken we bought across the road. Interestingly no white bab buns (only wholemeal) but plenty of crust white and the most amazing donut disks.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Previous ReviewThis bakery is your old school “original condition” sort of place with a variety of pies and sausage rolls in the pie warmer, cakes and slices in the cabinets, fresh predominantly white bread and a drinks fridge. You get the feeling that generations have known this place and the staff seemed to know and have a chat to everyone in the place (myself aside). I was in need of pies for a quick lunch at my grandmothers places so grabbed the steak, cheese and bacon pie, plus a meat and a vegetarian pastie. Gran enjoyed that deep the steak cheese and bacon pie. It was super tasty and made for a easy take around lunch. I had the vegetarian pastie as it was just ok... it was spinach and ricotta and seemed to lack the wow factor.

Pleasant family feel and good banter , better than the chain store up the road. Kinda wish they do proper signs instead of writing on card. Vanilla slice is good
