We were lucky enough to be at the centre at a quiet time of day so we’re treated to a personal didgeridoo mini concert (thanks Wayne) and a boomerang throwing lesson. We had a great time and would recommend a visit.

Aww, I hate to give a low review. But must be honest. This place had its heyday 20 years ago. Needs investment. However - we really enjoyed the tour with didgeridoo playing and boomerang throwing. Kids actually got them to come back! The volunteers are really friendly... hoping they can revitalise the space as such important cultural education for everyone to learn about.

Fantastic place really opens your eyes up on how us or we white men have been treating the traditional land owners and we should really respect them and vise versa THANKS to my auntie Karen from the powlla people

Very interesting and Wayne is very knowledgeable, thoroughly enjoyed hearing him play the didgeridoo and teach us how to throw a boomerang. Unfortunately there was a kinder group in our tour with 20+ kids who were very disruptive, would recommend calling before tour and confirming no kinder groups are attending!!

A very informative tour today.Focusing on the tribes of the Sandstone belt of central Queensland, our guide told us some of the history, Dreamtime stories, and more modern history of the Aboriginal people of the region.Moving to the cave for his didgeridoo performance was... Wow.. worth the entry fee for that. Great performance, and great acoustics.Happily answered many questions regarding the place the didgeridoo held in his people's culture and life.Finished up with some Boomerang throwing.. He said they were the returning kind, but I'm not so sure as plenty seemed to go pretty straight..Overall a great experience, and learnt plenty.

Central Queensland’s only indigenous cultural centre shines a light on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history.Guided tours of the centre take place at 10:30 and 13:00 and feature a didgeridoo demonstration and a visit to the Torres Strait Islander Village during which you’ll find out about their spiritual beliefs and traditional lifestyle.Your guide will also show you how to throw a boomerang, and during the school holidays there’s a performance by Djarn Djarn Dancers, a men’s dance group. On a self-guided visit you’ll be free to explore 12 hectares of landscaped gardens, discovering the role of plants in Aboriginal life and exploring 34 metres of recreated sandstone caves from the Central Queensland Sandstone Belt.
