Former Clunes & Talbot Shire offices and historic building. Lovely proportions yet grand and representing what was then the expectation of a bright future for the town. Symbolic of this historical gold rush colonial era town. Somewhat not maintained. Very underutilised by the current Hepburn Council who instead embarked on an ego building project called The Rex in Daylesford when they could have decentralised council staff to other towns in buildings like this at half the cost.

Great energy, served soup if wanted and played a lot of great games on the 8 square look forward to next week. Soup was filling and gave me dinner. Bit too late for the kids to stay the entire time though.

It was for the Clunes Booktown event. I had an excellent day.I sat a bvb d listened to Richard Flanagan's interview and review of his book First Person. I found that very informative, interesting, enlightening and entertaining.Later in the day, I sat and read,in the park surrounded by other members of my tribe. Readers all. There were many food stalls. So we were spoilt for choice. I chose Vietnamese cuisine. It was delicious.I spent a lot of time wandering around the various stalls meeting with and talking to many diverse people. It was a very satisfying day.I think the Clunes booktown is the best thing that Clunes has done in years. I look forward to next year.
