I recently visited Walt & Burley, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The lack of cleanliness in the establishment was very concerning. The tables were sticky and the floors were not properly cleaned, which made me very uneasy.To make matters worse, the bar staff seemed completely apathetic to our presence. It took them a while to take our order, and they didn't seem to care much about our experience.The wait for the food was unbearable. We waited for almost an hour for our meals, which was far too long. And to top it off, when the food finally arrived, it was undercooked and not at all enjoyable to eat.Overall, my experience at Walt & Burley was very disappointing. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially if you are looking for a clean, friendly, and efficient dining experience.

The venue is a busy pub style eating experience, live music, family and obviously dog friendly. (I'll touch on that shortly) We had the parma, cauliflower poppers and the Asian style pork ribs.I wanted the lamb salad, but it was all gone by the time we ordered at 2pm. Meals to the table took 30 minutes. The food together with two wines and a LLB came to $147.00. This included a 15% surcharge, the excuse being it was a public holiday.I can't talk to the other dishes, but my ribs were solid. Moist and fall off the bone with good flavour. This came with fresh slaw and very average chips.Regarding the dog factor.. Great if you love dogs..(we observed outside areas only)If not, just be aware there doesn't seem to be any limitations of where dogs can sit including on outside benches and even tables.Finally,Our experience with staff was always polite, helpful and efficient.

Bad start to the night, as we walked in to confirm our reservation the concierge stated ‘you have one hour then we need the table back’, sat us next to the emergency exit door which was constantly open and closed letting in 4-5*c chilled wind. We got a free helping of B.O. when the drinks came to the table to cleanse the palette with - thank you for the unexpected treat. Food was ok but I’ve had better at Hungry Jacks.Won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Didn't eat here, but the fireplace area was super cozy! Hardly anyone here on a Sunday night. Have seen it super packed on other nights.If you're meeting someone here, just be aware that this place has 3 different entrances ( see pics). Also the name sounds very similar to Beef & Barley on the other end of the Eastlake Pde.

Went here for lunch our first 2 pick of beers were unavailable we were then recommended Great Northern" when we said yes we were told the barrell needed changing so probably quicker to pick a different one. So we settled with another one. Wanted to pay cash was told no cash. $89.50 for 2 burgers and 2 scooners and 2 small cokes seemed steep. Luckily still had 8% battery and was able to tap phone to pay. Food wait wasn't too long but burgers were cold and chips were over cooked. Atmosphere nice and bar clean but not overwhelming."

Visited the W&B for a work get together and it’s a good pub for drinking and socialising. Nice atmosphere by the lake. The food is 50/50…the burgers wasn’t great and the sweet potato fries overdone. The risotto was far too salty. I’d move onto another place for food if you’re looking for more quality over quantity.

Lovely little cafe on the shore of lake burley griffin.We had lunch on a public holiday and were happy with the food. Plenty of seating available outside as well as inside cafe.Mushroom ragout was delicious and pasta was cooked perfectly.Beer bartered fish and chips were fresh and crunchy.Garlic bread with olive oil was much and crunchy but could do with a little more garlic butter as the one we had barely had any garlic butter. Overall not a bad place for a leisure lunch.

We had our engagement party at Walt and Burley and the whole team was absolutely fantastic.They were so helpful and considerate prior to the event and once we got there, the organisation was perfect.We are very grateful to them as it made the whole evening even more special!(They accommodated for a full vegan catering)!!

Really nice burgers and other pub food.I had the beef burger, the patty was large and moist, cheese was melted on from the grill. The burger was topped with a freshly made fried onion ring. Chips were excellent.Large selection of beers.Inside was really nice, different types of seating, couches around a fire, everything looked nice and clean.

We had our wedding reception in the Lakeside section of the venue and Danny and team went above and beyond to make sure our day ran smoothly. All of our guests commented on how yummy the food was and how great the service was. We were also able to organise our own entertainer and W&B were so accommodating in helping him get set up. One of our guest’s Airbnb wasn’t ready in time and W&B had absolutely no qualms about letting her store her bags. We also had one of the more difficult dietary allergies and again, was not a problem in the slightest to accommodate for this person.We had a lunchtime wedding and we had just recently moved to Canberra so has no idea on any venues but wanted something on the lake. So glad we came across this place while googling. Our wedding officially finished at 6pm but about half of our guests stayed until close because they loved the atmosphere and location
