We are spending the long weekend weekend in Chinchilla on a work trip and decided to find self contained accomodation as a break from restaurant food. We arrived at The Purple Cow butchery right on closing time and while the owner was packing up. We bought some pork sausages, some pork chops and a couple of rib eye fillet steaks. The rib steak was divine! So flavoursome, tender and juicy. The snags were great too and we are looking forward to our pork chops tonight! I highly recommend The Purple Cow! And thank you to the butcher for serving us after closing time!

Charged nearly $180 for sausages bacon rissoles steak lamb chops. Pork chops wanted weren’t included. No itemised receipt. Butcher wasn’t in a good mood. Exorbitant. We savour each mouthful we eat. No more business from me I’m afraid.

Called in whilst passing thru town for some pork sausages to make some meatballs. He had none ready, but was more than happy to mince up some fresh pork on the spot. Lovely country hospitality! Thanks!
