I took my son aged 9. It was a struggle to get him to engage. He had a severe stutter and was desperate for help and he was (is) incredibly bright. He found the approach babyish and felt belittled. Dr Rousseau made no effort to adjust her approach or even seek to engage him as the person he was. In the end she told me she could not help if he wasn't willing. And yet her approach had made him unwilling! We left feeling it wasour fault she couldn't help. An easy way out for a child speech pathologist who should some idea about how to engage children. We gave up. Several hundred dollars lighter. Both me and my now 15 year old (not stuttering) son feel nothing but upset about that brief period with her.

Finding a native French speaker who specialises in stuttering has been something akin to striking gold! My stuttering was so severe that I had given up speaking French entirely. After only a few short months of working with Dr Isabelle, I can now speak with family and friends who haven't heard my voice in many, many years and am well on my way to being stutter-free.She is kind, patient and more knowledgeable on the mechanisms of my speech deficits than any other specialist I have seen. I highly recommend her services!

Orthophonie Sydney provided support to my child who was struggling with literacy in a context of bilingualism. We had been to several other speech pathologists yet no one seemed able to grasp and fully comprehend the nature of difficulties, and provide appropriate support. There is no doubt in my mind that Isabelle's bilingual background and proficiency, and her many years of experience dealing with children developing more than one language were a key factor in my child's success. My daughter is now thriving, has surpassed all our expectations and has even won creative writing and poetry awards. She has a love of writing which at first, seemed significantly compromised. We cannot be more thankful to Isabelle and her team for all the help provided.

We have been seeing Dr Isabelle Rousseau since mid 2018 in regards to my son's severe stutter (which was above 10 on the chart when we first started). She was honest and upfront with us that the process may be slow at first but it is proven to get successful results. We trusted the process under Isabelle's guidance. We were willing to do whatever it took to help my son speak smoothly. We did as she instructed and today was our last appointment- we are so grateful that we found Isabelle! We are so pleased with the progress he has made, and acknowledge the joint effort contributed by all of us to make it work. Isabelle is a true professional and we will be forever thankful for her guidance, support and knowledge. Thank you just isn't enough!! I would not think twice about recommending Isabelle to anyone who may need speech advice.
