The Ship That Never Was
A brilliant show that has been running for 30 years!!! Its played buy three main actors and a bunch of people from the audience, which makes it so fun! It tells the story of a Great Escape from Sarah Island before 4 of the 8 escapee's get deported back to Port Arthur 12 months later. Amazing in every single way, from the stage to the plot, a show that won't be forgotten! Kids 12, 9 and 5 were thoroughly entertained the whole time! Thank you for this amusing play!

We saw this show within an hour of arriving at Strahan and what a treat!!! The show requires audience participation (what a hoot!) and the main actress is the daughter of the play’s author. It’s the longest running play in Australia and recounts the lives of actual Tasmanian convicts. Very funny and enjoyable - I thoroughly recommend seeing this show!!!

Superb family entertainment! Wonderful time had by all. The whole audience very much enjoyed the performance. Children of all ages got to be involved. Don’t let the “outdoor” aspect deter you - Mini hot water bottles & knees rugs were provided for audience members. Do wear a warm coat though.Thoroughly enjoyed the theatrical enactment of this true story from start to finish and highly recommend to all visitors to the west coast.

Do yourself a favour when you visit Strahan in Tasmania and get in early for your tickets to The Ship That Never Was" We had an absolutely enjoyable evening at the play performed in the amphitheatre. The "actors" were very entertaining and pulled the audience into the production. Much laughter throughout the entire show. Wear warm clothes but they will also hand out blankets if it is cold. Go! Enjoy!"

What a great way to tell a story about an interesting true event that occurred almost 200 years ago. The audience participation made it extra special. The 2 actors that made up the show did a good job of keeping the story on track.

So much fun!! Really enjoyed the 90 minutes, and learnt a lot about the history of the area, and the story that backed up our trip to the island earlier in the day.highly recommended, interactive with the audience nicely, and not forced. And all done by a team of two!!
