The Checkpoint process was well worth my time. It’s provoked a lot of thought about how I work with the team.I took some practical suggestions on getting better performance from direct reports as well as working more effectively with people who don’t report to me.Michael was willing to challenge me to highlight places where my assumptions are harming my team, yet it was done in a respectful and educational way.I’m sure I'll improve as a leader and as a team player from more time with Michael.

We have recently utilised Michaels skills at our catering enterprise. We trained all senior managers in a specially designed half day course. We completed the Velocity Leadership Checkpoint and then Michael attended site. We couldn’t have been more impressed with the content and delivery. We are implementing some key strategies. The Developing Leaders course was so beneficial for our team. I loved the velocity checkpoint insights into my personality and management style, and found the advice on how to hold difficult conversations to be particularly valuable. It's not always easy to approach sensitive topics, but the course provided some practical tips on how to navigate those conversations effectively. Some of the key takeaways included providing clear and direct feedback, active listening, working collaboratively to find a solution, accountability to ourselves and our team, and emphasised the importance of being respectful of your and others time. Highly recommend.

Michael achieves a balance of candid observation and deep respect for a individual's thinking process that enables a person to constructively challenge their own patterns of thought and action, obtaining an awareness of the obstacles in their path, and importantly, tap into the courage to overcome them so they can move forward. I have thoroughly enjoyed - and benefited from working with Michael and would recommend him.
