Restaurant Lovat
Service was good, however the food could’ve been better. Zucchini flowers were a bit oily however were substantial in size so good value here. The kingfish was great. The gnocchi was a little underwhelming and didn’t really have much of a flavour or sauce, so was quite bland and it was a very small serving. The veggies were undercooked so were on the hard side. The broccolini was nice, the dressing was very different in a good way which was a nice surprise. The duck Ragu was quite a small serving and it was dry and there was no where near enough sauce to cover the pasta.We were going to get 2x affogatos for dessert, but for $14 each they seemed poor value for money, especially when a shot of baileys or Francelico on top is only $3. I think the pricing for these items should be reconsidered with the ice cream and coffee shot starting at a lower price point and the alcoholic shots at a higher price point.The tables are incredible pointy and sharp on the corners. The toilets were very clean.We unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this to friends and family and so hoping this constructive criticism can be taken into account and improvements are made. The service was absolutely perfect so no complaints in this department.

Restaurant Lovat
Lovat has a curious location wedged into a tight corner at the start of the Newport shops, which due to traffic noise doesn't really lend itself to views or outside dining.But the setting inside is very nice, service is excellent, and the food superb.The fish, the mussels, the curry - it's all good, and they cater for dietaries, and keep long hours on the weekend.There's plenty of parking nearby around the Bowls Club, and it's not too far from the beach if you fancy a swim or a walk.

Beautiful restaurant with great ambience. Excellent service from the waiters and beautiful dishes, we particularly enjoyed the crab pasta!

Restaurant Lovat
First time at Lovat and visited for dinner. Originally seated in the outdoor area then offered a table inside which was better as the sun was glaring due to being low in the sky.Service was good, although being busy we did need to go upto the front desk to get a 2nd drinks order taken.Food was very good. Entree was the Kingfish carpaccio which was excellent.Carrying on with the seafood theme we ordered the Sri Lankan curry Barramundi . The fish was cooked perfectly with the current having a very tasty mild flavour.Also ordered the swordfish which was also tasty and would recommend.Dessert was an affogato with Kahlua, it was ok.Overall a very nice meal and would recommend to try it.

Ouch! What a painful experience. We noticed the birthday promotion of a free meal was omitted from our bill and when questioned the staff argued and when presented with the confirmation email continued to argue. Ultimately we were begrudgingly offered a partial discount, $12.00 out of a $372.00 bill, which left me feeling like the staff lacked training and professionalism. Ruined my evening and made me feel like I was unappreciated as a client.

Had an early dinner here. Great attentive staff. Great food, although the fish got cold quickly, maybe it could be served a bit hotter.Would come again

Sad to say the experience here was absolutely terrible.Highly recommend dining somewhere else.Took several attempts to get “the steak and chips” right. Admittedly, the service staff did the best they could however, the food we ordered was genuinely inedible.First steak was burnt and the second was rare. Additionally, we waited over an hour and by this stage we actually just wanted to leave and needed to go somewhere else.I hate leaving negative feedback for small businesses but this was genuinely a terrible experience and the quality of the food was terrible. Dine elsewhere.

We were well attended by the staff. Delicious food and Cocktails.Left very happy and contentSalted caramel and apple martini hit the spotAll the food choices made it hard to choose, got there with the curry and crab. Passionfruit dessert topped everything off Tables around us were all praising their meals.600 metres to the beach.

One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time! Everything we ordered was perfect. The cocktails were amazing. Can’t wait to go back!
