Typical suburban fish and chips, nothing too flash, but an 'ok' price tag for the area. Only complaint was the absence of a choice of fish, and based on the quality of our meals, I think it's been awhile since they bothered to change the oil.

The thing that you want from any fish and chip shop is consistency and that's what you get at Steve and Effie's! Crisp, hot chips, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside and only one type of battered fish - solid, chunky hake. Clean oil and only one cook. So it's always the same. Nothing worse than enjoying decent fish 'n taties and taking your friends back the following week and getting the exact opposite, that's no good! I've never been disappointed with this place and it's always worth the drive - always the same and never fails to hit the spot! A Sutherland Shire icon.

Great fish and chips. Not over cooked, good seasoning, felt like it was cooked in fresh oil and well priced. Fed a family of 5 for lunch for under $45. We'll be back.

Very disappointed. The hot chips were obviously cooked in oil from last year. I couldn’t finish my burger. A great location, with amazing potential. Owners need to simplify their menu, and get back to basics - ie. good food and service. Cmon guys! Lift your game. The tradies at the refinery will come back in droves. Only when you’re ready.
