Delicious Creole soul food that is hiding as a gem in Brisbane . The staff were polite and the food was served timely and delicious.Had two specials of the kangaroo tataki and spicy crab dip which were really good and I hope they Keep on the menu. The favourite pizza was Baton Rouge and we had a lovely time with the entire family.Definitely stop by if you are around.

Fantastic hidden restaurant, found it by accident when walking pass to another restaurant. Had the chicken, duck wings and something else and everything was delicious. Friendly staffs and owner and everyone were very attentive as well. Nice decoration and atmosphere. Clean and well maintained. Reasonable price as well. Highly recommended.

Right across from The Johnson Art Series by Accor this place is a pleasant surprise. A funky little restaurant with some really bold, unusual dishes and flavours.I dined here two nights in a row after a dinner appointment fell through on the second night.First night I had Soft shell crab as an entree (my favourite) and the Blackened Salmon as a main. Lots of flavour packed in both, the blackened salmon definitely packed a kick, but had an unusual accompaniment of watermelon to ease the pain. Very much enjoyed that meal. The second night I opted for the Nashville Hot Quail as an entree. A dish to be warned of and to prepare yourself for, it was incredibly spicy. Tasty, but it was hard work and was so spicy I was a little unsure I’d actually enjoy the flavours once I got stuck in. I made it to the end though. The main was the Chicken fried chicken. A signature dish I was told and the most unimpressive of the 4 dishes I had there, but the sauce made up for a lot.The girls serving were great, but the second night there was a young male server who did not actually do anything at all. He stood by and watched others serve, and put in the hard work. If you’re the owner, I’m sure you’ll know who I’m talking to. If you’re a diner, get service from the ladies in the place.

This is the perfect restaurant to get your soul food on. After the numerous great reviews of service and food, I needed confirmation for myself. Being an expat, I can honestly say the food sampled here was the perfect selection of Creole/Cajun recipes that are found in New Orleans. Some say there’s not enough spice, but it’s not all about that. It’s about the depth of flavour, as well as a bit of a kick. There’s also the selection of hot sauce, which can cater to everyone’s needs. The beignets were done perfectly, a choice way to end the Creole tang. As others have said, the service was impeccable, lively and entertaining, with fantastic recommendations for the multitude of drinks on offer. Highly recommend anyone to support this local place.

Great service and a unique New Orleans vibe in brizzy. The gumbo needs a little more flavoring and the wings are a bit dry but still great though!

Two stars for the staff that were friendly and helpful: however the food was terrible. I ordered -chicken gumbo (larger sized meals) $18 it was a clump of rice with sauce around it and came in a small takeaway container.-Chicken and biscuit $16 (smaller meal size) chicken was crispy but the biscuit was bland.-Soul kitchen prawns $22 (smaller meal size) no kidding it had 5 small prawns and half a lemon piece swimming in a soupy type sauce.(Full disclosure I didn’t pay for this as it was an ordering error so they threw it in)I did order fries but due to choosing the garlic butter option they were an oily mess in the bag- and the kitchen kept them after I asked about if that’s how they are supposed to be and didn’t replace them.-Pumpkin pie dessert special $15 was shocking. It had spice seasoning but was flat like a pancake- not a pie of any sorts.I can see the rest of the reviews like the food- so maybe it’s because I ordered takeaway that it was slapped together. Sorry guys - good service but food was a big miss.

A humble decor with great ambience. Scrumptious food. Abundant portion size. Friendly staff with quick services. This is a place to go back to.

Creole kitchen was a lovely experience! The staff were so attentive and taking care of us as much as we needed. The atmosphere was also lovely. I loved the dim lighting, music, and vibe they created. The food was huge portion sizes! Truly reminded me of being back in America again. That's for sure, hahaha. We had some of their Thanksgiving specials. The turkey was HUGE and had an intense smokey flavour. We had a lovely chat with the owner, who said this was a smaller portion of their turkey legs! Which is crazy! I had the fried chicken, which was my favourite out of all the dishes. It had great flavour, and the mash was also delicious. The coleslaw was a bit bland, but I didn't especially mind it when everything else was a delicious flavour.Id definitely come back here again to grab any of their chicken dishes! Their garlic butter chips were also MHM delicious! Very good. Would also recommend the garlic chips. The fried okra had a good flavour, but is slimy (as Okra is) so I wouldn't recommend it if you don't like the slime texture of okra. Otherwise great flavour, great staff team, lovely owner and good drink recommendations!
