Arcare Aged Care Sydenham

My dad was in Arcare Sydenham dementia ward 3 years ago and was cared for extremely well by staff. Our concerns were always taken seriously and met by staff.This year Mum is a resident there although in a different area. The staff that attend to mums needs are amazing, very helpful and caring and always bring a smile to mums face.The Centre is very clean and welcoming.I've found all staff at Arcare from management, careers ,laundry ,café, & maintenance are friendly and have always assisted us promptly when needed.Thank you Arcare for taking care of my parents, I am truly grateful.Josie.

My transition to Arcare Sydenham has been absolutely seemless. I think we all worry about what living in Aged Care will be however after living independently it is a pleasure to live within the Arcare Sydenham family. The management, lifestyle, dedicated / personal care workers, nurses, catering and miscellaneous workers have all been caring and supportive of my needs and welfare. Also with support, I have been able to continue my craft hobbies which gives me so much pleasure. I thank you all and is so appreciated.

My father has dementia and requires high level care. When my mother passed away we were unable to care for our dad and began the search for a care facility where he would be safe, happy and treated with respect. When we walked through the doors at Arcare in Sydenham we knew right away that this was the place for dad. Dad has been living at Arcare now for over 18 months and has flourished. He is happy and well looked after. The lifestyle team actively engage dad in weekly activities which has been great for his well-being. We no longer have to worry because we know dad is happy and doing well. Communication from management has been great and questions are always answered. Thank you to the team at Arcare Sydenham.

I have been apart of the Arcare Sydenham Family for almost 2 years, the wonderful Management/Team always will welcome you with a warm hearted smile and a caring nature like no other.During the troublesome covid period all staff jumped into action and worked tirelessly to help prevent the spread throughout the facility and what an amazing job each and everyone of them did.Thank you to all staff for being such an outstanding team.

My father has been at the facility for about 2 years now, and my family are really happy with the choice that he made by coming to Arcare Sydenham.The staff that attend to my father are very friendly and I love it when I walk into the facility, as the staff at the front always make sure that myself and my family are always greeted with beautiful smiles and conversation checking in on how we all are. Two years ago we were given no choice and were told my Father required full time care. I always said l would not place my parents in Aged Care. My brother and l searched for a suitable home for Dad and were told to follow our noses and that’s what we did and have not looked back. The Facility.is always clean and the Staff are so friendly. Most importantly Dad is getting the care he needs. A big thank you to Arcare for treating us and you’re residents so well. Dad absolutely loves his carers and so do we they have become our extended Family. Well done Management and Staff so glad we walked through you’re doors almost two years ago.Dianne Ewens

I enjoy coming to work because of the friendly atmosphere and the beautiful clients that bring me so much joy on every shift that I come to. I have worked in many places, but I find Arcare Sydenham to be the most supportive and caring not only with the staff but also with the residents that I care for. I always hear about families telling how wonderful and happy they are to have there loved ones here xx

Arcare Sydenham has a very welcoming environment. All staff members were nice and cooperative. They treat all residents with respect and dignity and ensuring that they get the best care possible. This place is not just an aged care residence but a home for elderlies.

My mother entered Arcare Sensitive Care ward with Dementia and I am very happy with the care given by the staff. They keep me well updated on everything that happens.I love the venue , it is beautifully clean and comfortable and the staff are all caring and friendly.

Arcare Sydenham have given my mum loving, responsive and quality care throughout her nine months of residence.Staff are really kind to Mum and carers often go beyond the call of duty.The RNs always respond quickly to our queries (not always the case in many aged care places). The Lifestyle staff provide great activities, and the administrative staff know me by name and always welcome me when I arrive to visit.Arcare's care during the Covid lock-down last year was exemplary. Zoom meetings were freely available, families were kept regularly updated, and PPE requirements were met to the letter. Every effort was made to ensure residents and their families were supported. It was a magnificent effort from all the staff and we were very grateful to them for their care and attention to detail.Mum's room is larger than those in other facilities we checked out. It isa little dated compared to others, but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately the Covid pandemic delayed plans to renovate the Sydenham facility, but I hope renovations may occur once things settle. The meals must be good, as Mum (very thin upon admission) has gained weight!I would not hesitate to recommend Arcare Sydenham to anyone needing to place their loved one into care.
