A modern French restaurant that didn't quite hit the mark with dessert and ambience.Highly recommend the oysters appetiser and pate entrée. Delicious, subtle flavours and clean presentation. Steak was cooked on point.Unfortunately, on the night we visited the restaurant there was a very large and rowdy table behind us which destroyed the romantic ambience we expected from a quaint French restaurant. We could see it made many of the other patrons (including ourselves) quite uncomfortable. We could no longer converse and so we resorted to staring blankly at each other and shaking our heads. A word from management to the group may have helped the situation.The soufflé dessert, for me, was completely inedible. The passionfruit soufflé was so tart, even after pouring all the syrup on top I could not eat more than two bites. Comparable sourness to eating a lemon - it made me quite sick that I had to discard most of the dessert.Sadly, not a restaurant I would visit again. For the price, I was expecting more.

Lovely local french restaurant with easy weeknight parking. Good ambience & decor, just slightly dark. Attentive wait staff. Kitchen was accommodating when we requested to change a dessert in the 3 course to another entre for us to share, for $10 extra. Food was excellent with well done scallops, ravioli & the chef's chicken pie the standouts, but everything (we also had lamb & fish mains) was good. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Loved the menu and staff were attentive. Got an ice mocha which was lovely and not too sweet. Also got the French brioche toast which was phenomenal. The caramelised banana added some wow factor and was great technique, the cream was delicious and perfectly infused, loved the compote and not too much syrup. Perfection ✨

The atmosphere is a bit noisy but once you get past that, the food is fabulous and the team at Monte are courteous and polite. Food was delicious and well crafted. The wine list could be better though.

The food is really good here, pork belly is very tender and the crackling is nice and crunchy. Plate present well, not too overly decorate.Serving size is on the small scale but not bad for the price paid.Desserts are good too.Service is great, food came out quickly. Atmosphere is nice, not too noisy.

The food was worthy of a hat. Rarely is entire table totally satisfied with both their entree and main. Well done on an exquisite meal, great wine selection, and exceptional service.

We have just come back from Europe and tonight’s dining experience has been comparable to the é cuisine fool we enjoyed in France! The chef came out to greet us at the end of the meal and the service was impeccable!!! WE WILL BE BACK!!!! Brilliant!

Had a lunch date with my wife at Monté today. Making a reservation was simple and easy to do in a few seconds.The restaurant was open and had a nice homely feel, it was also quiet enough to have a conversation without yelling at each other.We opted for the main+entrée for $65.Our entrées were miso scallops and beef carpaccio, our mains were crispy pork and eye fillet steak.We both enjoyed the beef carpaccio, delicious. The miso scallop dish was on the sweet side and the scallops were a little overcooked. Scallops have a delicate flavour so we found that the miso sauce overpowered the sweetness of the scallops.The crispy pork dish was tasty, the meat was tender and juicy, the skin super crispy.I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare, it was cooked perfectly. Very tender and delicious.Service was great as expected.Pleased with my decision to dine at Monté.
