Carlo's IGA Walcha

Great camping grounds, fantastic amenities, camp kitchen was clean we used it nearly every night. Also not far from town. IGA supermarket in town so can get groceries also butcher sells very nice meat especially try the ribs yummo.

Pretty good but xxxxxxeeee. $9 for 500gms butter. I know it's a small town and they really cannot compete. Staff helpful and friendly.

Most IGA's are great compared to the other majors. They are independent so can vary.This one in Walcha is well stocked and offers fash cash register service.Easy parking out front.Full departments including bottle shop.Beats driving to Woolworths or Coles in Tamworth or Armidale.Has all the statewide specials.Great way to support local charities by using your benefits card.Seniors 5% discounts on Thursdays.Christmas club.

Old store and some of the prices were up there I was with my dog sophie and she came for a walk in from the van park and stayed outsideShe did not volunteer againA solo style camping holiday I felt like I was a ghost.Sophoe got to see her first cows at the van park .She was astounded to find such ' big dogs' I think and the dog and I were joined at the hip ..Like a solo holiday where one had time to reflect upon ones isolation and betrayal .Walcha IGA had every imaginable item including a bottle shop .Walcha was mid summed and o had to hump " all items back from the IGA along the walkways along the creek and s severely steep hill up to the park .Sophie my dog was happy not to venture back into town so I did the trek alone .I enjoyed the sir conditioning at the IGA and the fact the bottle shop was inside the supermarket.Definitely for such a small isolated country down it suited an isolated and alone man and his dog .No other caring companionship was available so it was a solitary cold Christmas period.IGA though was superb nd sophie enjoyed. Many treats"

Really good IGA with friendly staff and very popular with the locals.

Refused legal tender (cash) because they are afraid of a very minuscule chance that the cash was infected with covid, even though i wasn't sick and had zero symptoms. And yet their competition across the street (foodworks) couldn't care less and accepted cash. Last time IGA will receive my business. And in a town in the middle of nowhere of all places. Maybe they should get some UV lights while their busy being scared.
