Cheap House Mover

Complete rip off. Booked online and of course asked for a quote. Notified them of the amount of stuff and that pick up would be from a first floor apartment with a flight of stairs and no lift. Received a quote for $125 an hour and a call out fee. Seemed reasonable so booked and paid a $100 deposit. On the day of the move they then changed the quote and said they would need an extra $200 cash because of the stairs. That’s double what they had quoted after I told them about the stairs! Luckily I had a few days spare to move so I pointed out this was not the quote I was given and they left. Company has refused to return my deposit! Complete scam - they don’t disclose all the fees then bank on you needing to move on the day and not having any choice but to proceed.

We had organized to move on a certain day, everything was all ok and to schedule even up to the day before, until the night before, where we recieved a call saying that they could not do it at agreed time and that it needed to be done 4 hours later in the day. I explained that we need to move by the time I had originally organized, and how am I suppose to get another mover at this time of night to do the job, they said that they would send another truck. The morning of the move they rang and told me that they cant send another truck until at least 4 hours past what was previously arranged. I told them to cancel the booking and refund the deposit, as we had to rent a truck a move it ourselves. Almost 2 weeks later, and countless emails and still no refund.Poor service and not professional, would not recommend, save yourself the stress and try other moving companies.

The best part about CHM Movers was their exceptional customer service. They were always available to answer any questions I had and were very patient with me during the entire process. They even followed up after the move to make sure everything was to my satisfaction.

No show and wont return deposit.Terrible customer service - after paying deposit one month before pick up date we called 4-5 times to confirm a pickup time the week in leading up to our moving date. We were told drivers would be arriving at 8 am - well they didn't arrive at 8 am and after several hours and many more calls on the day there was a NO SHOW.No apology from the woman we spoke to just excuses and lies.We had to arrange another company and lose money in process.After making calls, emails and texts over the last few months trying to get our deposit back there has been nothing....NO DEPOSIT has been refunded. Just more fob offs!Terrible ! they should not be allowed to get away with this. It's highway robbery at its best. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
