If I could give a 0 star rating to this doctors clinic I would. As a new patient to the clinic, I was utterly appalled by the treatment I received when visiting the clinic this afternoon. Initially when I booked the appointment, I was told to arrive 10 minutes early to fill out the new patient forms in which I did. I understand that doctors can be running behind schedule, but Dr Kavita Nathan decided that it was acceptable to keep me waiting an extra 10 minutes after she was already 15 minutes behind schedule to chitchat to another employee. She walked up to me whilst I was waiting and said “ I’ll be with you shortly, you’re my last patient of the day”. After she finished chit chatting to the other employee, she finally decided to walk up to me and let me know that she was ready to see me. I found Dr Kavita Nathan’s attitude during the consultation to be absolutely disgraceful. At the end of my consultation, she then proceeded to inform me that she does not bulk bill new patients for their initial first visit, but my second appointment I wouldn’t be charged. I then told her that I was informed that Maleny Medical Centre bulk bills NCACCH card holders. As stated on The NCACCH website, Maleny Medical Centre is a NCACCH approved clinic. When I discussed to Dr Kavita Nathan this, she seemed completely clueless and said that I would be charged a fee. After deciding to ring the receptionist to discuss the matter, the receptionist informed her that as an approved NCACCH clinic I was entitled to be bulk billed. I couldn’t believe that this doctor had no idea that NCACCH patients were entitled to be bulk billed. The whole experience left me extremely upset and extremely disappointed in the whole experience of visiting this clinic. I was also informed that Dr Nathan Kavita is leaving the clinic soon, but that does not give her the right to treat patients so disrespectfully. I have absolutely zero intentions of ever returning or ever recommending this clinic to anyone. Absolutely disgraceful.

I have found this medical practice gives excellent service both the doctors and the reception staff. My doctor, Dr Kumar Pillai MB BS DCH, saved my life when he thoroughly investigated a symptom that is not usually a problem. I had an aneurysm which was imminently in danger of bursting. That was nearly a year ago and he has been very helpful with my recovery after open heart surgery as well. Dr Pillai is a little unusual as he listens to and respects my opinion..After a deeply disappointing experience with a male doctor when I was a young woman, I retained a distrust of the medical profession. Consequently, I like to take responsibility for my health and tend to question my medical providers. Dr Pillai never dismisses my views off hand, and always takes the time to explain the medical path he advises. Highly recommended.

Good thorough doctors so far.

We moved from another doctors and have found this place amazing. Everything is investigated- you’re never made to feel like a number and everyone actually remembers what customer service is! Thank you team at Maleny medical - my wife and I hi i you’re fabulous!

Thank u to both jo and sue, receptionists at melaney medical centre. They both went beyond the call of duty to help my partner and myself. We r holiday makers in the showgrounds when I found I could not walk anywhere, but both those ladies made it possible for me to get from medical centre to xray/scan clinic. Jo also loaned me her father's wheelchair so I could move around a bit more easily. So grateful to u both. Very nice

A practice that does not follow clinical guidelines, nor practice empathy for extremely sensitive matters. Two aspects crucial to providing adequate medical care. Absolutely appalled.
