Room was very basic, but it was clean and very comfy and secure, great air con, plenty of pillows and clean towels and a terrific hot shower!! The place is in an awesome location, right around the corner from beaches, wharf precinct, bars, cafes, surf clubs. The check in process is a bit complicated but we worked it out - the service team are lovely and very professional. Room had a fridge, TV, microwave and kettle, and there's free body wash in the shower. Wish I could've stayed in beautiful Newcastle longer, and definitely will stay at this hotel again.

This hotel should be bulldozed. Rooms are a disgrace with broken switches, dangerous fridge with exposed wiring. No staff at premises, have to deal with an off shore call centre who do not know the property from the back of their hand. Screwed around with access codes for all 3 rooms we booked. No apologies or offer of any compensation from a staff member at Head office. We were not the only people affected y this as at least another 6 were complaining of Similar issues including no working air-conditioning & leaking ceiling/ wall causing room to flood.Don't stay here people

Quite possibly the worst place I have ever stayed. The rooms look nothing like the pictures, it smelt and the during a heat wave the air-conditioning did not help things. The toilet wasn't cemented to the ground properly and upon asking for a refund we were denied. Paid for parking as an extra and couldn't even get a spot. Do yourself a favour and don't bother booking here - it's horrendous!!!

Crusty! In a major need of renovationRoom size is good, and the views are beautifulThat's it's only saving graceAs you enter the main lobby you are met with a foul smell. That continues through the hallway to the rooms. The room has a reasonable aroma but overshadowed by the intensity of the bleach that's required to kill long-term bacteriumIt's no surprise as the carpet is disgustingly old, dirty and smellyPaint everywhere is marked and scratchedThe details in the room are incredibly agedFurniture and bathroom very old and decrepitToo expensive for the poor quality accommodation

The Last TimeLet me preference this by saying we have used this hotel on a number of occasions for a quick stop over in Newcastle and were satisfied with it for the price we paid.Firstly, the positives, location and ……………. maybe the price, but that is up for debate after this stay. And I get it that’s it’s a budget motel but that shouldn’t equate to one thinking they are trapped in a horror show.Nothing like being awoken at 1:45am by people who were having a heated disagreement using lots of colourful language, slamming doors as they entered and exited their room threatening to leave and then only to return. They were obviously affected by something…. This entertainment kept going until 3am. Yes, we could have left. However, we had kids with us and didn’t need the added burden of trying to get out of dodge city and running into what was occupying the room next door.Added to this was, dirty pillow cases, half a roll of toilet paper, an air con that had a mind of its own and a lovely view of a corrugated roof.In the morning when my wife rang up to raise her concerns. The person who took the call, whilst polite, didn’t seem that concerned. Also, we filled out the hotel’s checkout feedback and asked for a call back. It seems that maybe they use carrier pigeon as we are still waiting for a reply.Yes, these things can happen in other hotels but they usually have these things called human beings who are actually onsite, including security, and attempt to solve these problemsIf you want an experience that feels like you are in your own horror movie, then this place is perfect. Otherwise stay away and find a better alternative.

This accommodation is very basic, very outdated and smells like a 3rd world country, great location though. However upon checkout we were locked out of our rooms at 9:30am and still had bags to get as check out is 10 o'clock, poor customer service, not happy at all.

You don't get much for $200 these days accommodation wise... Carpet wasn't vacuumed recently (nail clippings and random stuff found all over the carpet), dirty TV screen, dust everywhere... And no staff in the building at all (they don't even reply to your emails). You'd have to either go for $100 at a pub and share a bathroom (possibly nicer than this ensuite) or step up to a budget Ibis for $300+.On the plus side, the location was very good, a block from the fort and beaches, and downhill to the city centre.Wouldn't stay here again, not worth the money spent.

After checking our reservation the morning of our stay were told we would be texted a code well before check in time. Arrived 2.05, no code, 3 phone calls (told didn't have our number, an outright lie, then would have it in 2 mins, then our room was still being cleaned) finally in at 3.05 after waiting outside in heat for an hour. Opened door of room for sea breeze, regretted on lights out as a tribe of mosquitoes had entered, no screen door. Killed the last at 3am. Not a budget price. Bedside light didn't work, no bath mat on slippery tile bathroom floor. No physical person in hotel so no way to resolve any issues. Very disappointed, this was to celebrate a special wedding anniversary. Definitely cannot recommend this hotel! No stars except for position.

I wouldn’t even give it one star but wanted to say how shocking this place is. The rooms are filthy dirty, the staff specially the manager when called for assistance is not polite nor helpful and they don’t take responsibility for things they say they offer but they don’t.You also have to pay $20 for a shonky underground car park that you must park shoulder to shoulder with other cars! Certainly not for family’s. Very dusty and dirty.
