Kira Canine Code

Kira and Canine Code are really amazing dog behavioral specialists, and come highly recommended by many vets and pet shops as one of the best in Melbourne. Kira's many years in the animal behavioral area is taught in a easily and calm manner, her presentation is superb and all her techniques are tested and well tried out. Our family really enjoyed the puppy classes and socializing events and will definitely use Canine Code again if we need to. :-)

The combination of theoretical training videos, in class training and socialisation is the perfect base for a learning pup. Kira is an excellent dog trainer who helped me train my puppy, Rupert. She was patient and knowledgeable, taking the time to understand Rupert's personality and my training goals. If my husband and I could give 6 stars we would!We had originally taken our little man to another puppy school and their methods did not work well for both him and us. We came out of that first class anxious and stressed, not to mention their method of calming our puppy down caused him to have bowel issues for the next 24 hours. We immediately cancelled our remaining sessions and contacted Kira.Kira's training sessions are worth every single penny. She understands the uniqueness of each dog and that it's not just a one method that suits all. Her methods work for keeping our rescue puppy grounded and all set on becoming a well mannered little man. We highly recommend Kira and the Canine Code.

Kira's training videos are amazing! When we first got our puppy, he was disobedient and tearing up the house; after just a week of following Kira's videos, most of the behaviour had been completely fixed.Kira is also great in person. In one session, our puppy who had been pulling on the leash and hard to control on walks, was able to be walked down a busy main road with no problems at all!I highly recommend Kira, she's very knowledgable and works absolute wonders with dogs.

I often reflect on how fortunate we were to have found Kira and Canine Code, and what a huge impact it has made to our lives. I did a lot of research and selected Canine Code before I even collected my puppy. Kira’s premium puppy school package comes with both amazing preparation videos (they far outclass the YouTube ones) and in-person sessions. I highly encourage everyone to watch the videos ASAP so that you can instil good habits from the get-go. We did lots of practice before and between the in-person classes so that we could use our physical time with Kira as productively as possible. We started the course when Sephie was 9 weeks old. 2.5 months after our last session, I am regularly told that she is the most well-trained pup people have ever met. I have had family dogs previously and can really appreciate the world of difference a great foundation and training makes. Also, you can get a significant discount with the council on annual pet registration fees once your obedience training is complete. If you are in Glen Eira Council, this is particularly relevant as they are really strict about which trainers will satisfy their requirement to qualify for the discount. I wasn’t able to find a trainer other than Kira that could do it. Finally, I want to make this point - the dog trainer is really training and teaching the owner, so the results that you get with your pup directly correlate to the efforts that you put into the process. We finally made the step to getting a dog at home. We knew that we needed to train him so we found Kira searching for puppy schools. We have completed 2 courses with Kira and can not recommend her enough. She is just fantastic at what she does. Not only did we do training with our puppy, but she gave us insights into how a dog thinks, this taught us so much and ultimately accelerated his training beyond belief. If you are thinking about puppy training, do not look past Kira, she is the best!Thanks Kira!!!

What else can I say, other than amazing? Our two Border Collies were insane pullers on the lead - to the point my children and wife found it near on impossible to walk them on leash. Literally 10 minutes in, Kira's training has essentially fixed this. Granted there is much more consistent work to be done from the humans, especially when in open areas on leash, however the best money I've spent in a while. Highly recommend.
