Great little pub to stay overnight. Great county hospitality.We arrived cold and wet on our motorbikes. Morgan (the owner) and cook for the night made us feel welcome, gave us access to the shed to put our bikes under cover and secure. Kerry the bar manageress treated us like kings. Couldn't do enough for us.Beds were comfy and warm. Food was great and plentiful! We will definitely come again when in the area.

The T-bone was cooked perfectly. The taste was amazing, juicy, tender and a huge piece of meat. Wow. Staff are great. Small, cosy and friendly. Locals like to have a chat. Beer was snappy cold. All in all, like I said on the day, excellent"."

This hotel is clean, neat and spacious, despite its appearance from the street. They stock a few different beers and wines, with a good selection of spirits and soft drinks in cans. The menu has steaks and schnitzel at good prices, I had the fish and chips for $15 which included a fresh salad of mixed lettuce, cucumber, tomato and capsicum. The road to Trunkey is sealed and easy to travel. Well worth the visit for a drive to a real country pub.

Great food, great staff, great patrons, great place.Myself and up to 7 others stayed here for almost 5 months during the week and the odd weekend. Our stay commenced in winter and all the staff were very accommodating, lighting the fire in our private lounge area so when we returned from a hard days work we could thaw out. We were offered full use of the commercial kitchen, staff helped us cook our own meals, but also offered to completely cook for us at times. On weekends they put on a great feed, and host many people - local and tourists. We were looked after for the entire duration of our stay, even when the hot water broke down it was fixed immediately with a bigger and better system to accommodate us. The pool table and jukebox were great entertainment, there was always a keen opponent to play. By the time we were finished here, we were enjoying BBQ's in the outdoor area, chatting away to all the locals and hotel staff.

Look no further. If you're looking for a delicious dinner, you must try one of Chris's award winning steaks. Cooked to perfection on the smoker to your liking. A must try. You won't be disappointed. Try the lamb cutlets, definitely the best in the central west. The beer is the best for miles and the locals all have a good story to tell.

True country pub. Locals are the main customers with the odd traveller. Heaps of character in a historic old village. Great well priced beer. Good food when the kitchen is open. (Limited days) Return to the old days.

This is a very fine establishment with excellent cold beer, superb food and extremely friendly staff.The locals are a very jolly and welcoming bunch and one feels straight at home.There is a variety of sport to be had beside drinking beer like, for example, pool and darts.For any wandering Englishmen-it is extremely pommie friendly and you will not be thrown out for having a beer too many-unlike those snooty bars in Sydney!! Infact you will feel right at home-as if you were in a Kent or Sussex country pub!!Top marks all round!!

Great, friendly local pub with lovely staff. Food is generous with traditional pub meals. No Vegetarian / Vegan on the menu but they were happy to find a solution. Coffee is good too.

The Hamburger & Steak Burger were sensational. Perfectly cooked & melt in your mouth. Lovely staff. Service to your table. Great little find on our recent ride. Highly recommend.
