Pie In the Sky
Good pie of a lot of different varieties. We got 2 chicken(tandoori and korma) and 2 beef pies(rendang and pepper steak). In my opinion the chicken pies were much better than beef.

There’s so much great cafes and restaurants around this area but today was my first time visiting Pie In The Sky. There are quite a number of seats available indoor and outdoor but they can get quite busy during peak hours. Anyway, we ordered a latte, beef rendang pie and apple strudel. Coffee was mediocre but the food was awesome! Beef rendang pie has three chilli icon and please do not take this lightly as they’re VERY spicy. I would say I can take spice pretty well but this pie got me all tested up but I couldn’t stop eating because it’s so good! Apple strudel was warm and paired so well with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I would definitely be back for the rest of their pies!

Pie in the SkyVisited on 20/3/2023Due to the topography of the sloppping land, there are some steps to go up the shop, which has a L-shape verandah for outdoor dining. The interior has rich timber floor and wall, and consists of three levels.A booking was made for our group of14 people, just in case the pie shop was packed. It was an ill-founded concern. Only a few people presumbly tourists were gathering around looking at big menu board on the wall above the front counter, deciding what to order. There was a good variety of exotic pies. The takeaway prices are lower than dine-in prices. My wife ordered a Burgandy Pie while mine was a Beef Rendang Pie. As a critical pie lover and eater, I passed the puff pastry for the pie casing, but failed both in terms of taste and fillimg texture. I could not taste a drop of Burgany in the Burgandy Pie, and the Rendang Pie is more like having a chillie stew filling. Technically speaking, rendiang is a dry curry; it was not meant to have excessive gravy.

Had a lovely lunch here. Best milkshake I have had in years. Unless you have a very large appetite , the nachos are delicious and easily serve 2! The pie variety's is huge, vegetarians catered for too.

Pie In the Sky
A popular restaurant in Olinda (Dandenong ranges tourist area) famous for its award winning pies. Parking can be an issue and there are paid parking ($3/hour) at the rear. Restaurant is busy but clean. The deco inside is cosy and keeps its original setting. Order on the phone via QR code although it didn't work on my OPPO phone. Greeting and service were short and sweet. We ordered two signature pies ( beef mince & beef mince and mushroom) and one chicken nuggets and chips. One with peas, mash and gravy and one by itself. Pies are tasty but wouldn't add sides next time. Went there an hour or so after open, and there are a few items unavailable already. Hopefully will get back to its full swing soon.

Pie In the Sky
I've visited Pie in The Sky a few times over the last 12 years or so, and always appreciated what they're trying to do. These days the food is very average though - the pies are quite plain and dry, and really nothing special compared to other Melbourne bakeries. My best decision on my last visit was actually a chocolate milkshake, which was very nice. I found the service to still be very good, apart from a slight mix-up with our order, and it was all very kid-friendly. Even after 2pm, it was very busy on a summer weekday for both dining in and takeaway.

Called here 2 days in a row. Coffee excellent, no surprise, vanilla slice on visit 1 perfect….on second visit I had just cycled up The Wall so needed sustenance so went for an award winning Aussie pie which was delicious and hit the hunger spot before my ride back down the mountain. There heating was off but that was a minor point….great spot.

Visited again on April 29, 2023. Food definitely came out quicker this time. However pies were overdone and slightly burnt and dry. Rating 3 again. What’s happening Pie in the Sky ?Visited Pie in the Sky today, 11 March 2023. It was crazy busy there and our experience was not great as per the last few visits. We waited over 45 mins for our food. We ordered five pies, fish and chips plate, large chips and wedges. Fish and chips plate was missing 1 piece of fish and the missing piece arrived after 10 mins. Place was very understaffed and the staff was overwhelmed by the amount of people who came in today. But the four staff who where at the front still did a great job to service. Still our favourite pies joint but really need to increase staff and lift up the service level.Comments from previous visits below and I gave 5 stars before. This is our favourite pie place. My daughters and I drive up the mountain to come here often to enjoy the best pies in the land. While I order the slightly hot beef rendang pie with chips the girls always order 2 tandoori chicken pies each. We sit and have a chat, enjoy our pies with a cup of latte and hot chocolate. It’s our comfort food and we love it. Great atmosphere to chill among the trees of mount Dandenong. Highly recommended. A must try.

We had the beef and mushroom pie. It tasted good and not too salty. Thanks for serving me after closed. It was fun to have it outside and looked at the sky, haha.

Pie In the Sky
I'm not sure where (or when?) the hype for this place comes from. How old are those awards? The pie was exceedingly poor, with lots of filler and gelatine - exactly the texture I hate about cheap pies, not what you'd expect from a pie demanding $7.50 of your hard-earned. And the pastry was really not overly good - certainly not very robust either. The Vanilla slice was merely... average, and the passion-fruit glaze was unwelcome on my palette when I'm buying a vanilla slice for a particular reason. Not a fan.Other people in my group had similar thoughts on their food choices, despite gold medal" being emblazoned on many options... I seriously doubt that!I've visited many
