Loved it. We wandered in one cold(ish) evening and had a very fine night drinking wine. “Mystery” rose wines for my companions, and a lovely trebbiano for me.The music was exceptional, and the speakers were set up just perfectly for the space. I would like also to commend Al. He was lovely and friendly.Ambience was excellent. Definitely recommend. A classy and sophisticated secret in Hobart

Incredible atmosphere and dining experience. We actually got recommended to come here by the manager of a beautiful wine bar in Perth, apparently its reputation is really travelling! The wines were amazing, the food was amazing, and the staff really provided a curated experience with wines that paired well with our food. The energy is upbeat and fun, they were playing disco records at the start of the night and moved on to some Jimmy Hendrix afterward. They don't take bookings, and we heard from some locals that they had never gotten in.We were there during Dark Mofo so it might not always be this busy, but we showed up right before they opened at 3:50 on a Friday and there were 30 people lined up. The venue seats perhaps 12. We came back on Sunday a bit earlier and got in by showing up 15 minutes before open. When we left at 6 there was no longer a line but every seat was full, so either show up a bit early or come by a bit later and be ready to wait. Tables seem to move through relatively quickly (we were the slowest table).Well worth the wait though! Don't miss out!

Great vibes, excellent drinks, brilliant food. The venue is small so you may need to wait if it’s busy, but it’s worthwhile! Most of the menu is small plates which are very well executed. Staff are welcoming and relaxed. Tunes on vinyl add to the charm.

Small bar setting, super cozy and food was exceptionally good. Loved their sardine pasta so much. Staff are friendly. Better go there either when they just open or a bit late, its a busy place.

sonny is an amazing dining experience - absolutely worth the wait and an unmissable spot if you’re in Hobart. We arrived at 5.50 and queued until 7.15 when we were eventually invited to dine at the bar. The chef and wait staff were super attentive, giving detail on the food and mystery wine available to order that day. The music was loud but as the space is so intimate, there were no raised voices. The chef cooked and served dishes with such ease, it was a pleasure to watch him so his thing. We ordered everything on the menu which was the perfect amount for two. I can’t wait to return next time I’m in Hobart.

Beautiful and cozy place, with amazing retro atmosphere with music played on a turntable. We were served by Kat, who was very attentive and suggested us perfect combination of food and matching drinks. Overall the experience was extraordinary!

This place is amazing! Love the music, the boss has a good taste of music! The service was excellent and food was served fresh and delicious! Perfect little bar, be prepared to wait in line tho.

A bit of a wait but totally worth it, loved their food and the selection of wine was fantastic!The atmosphere was really cozy and casual + the owners were very accommodating
