Elegant in Design

Melinda worked with us on our recent renovation and we were so glad to have her involved. I was initially slightly skeptical of the need for an interior designer but Melinda added value to every room and area she was involved with.Melinda worked on the design for our kitchen, laundry/mudroom, hallway and general decoration. In the kitchen she suggested changes to the layout that created a far better flow and look for the house as well as creating more usable space for us as a family.Melinda took the time to discover our preferences and style but also pushed us to be more adventurous in some of our selections. If we ever had to make changes Melinda would produce detailed proposal documents with all the options laid our for us in the context of our other material and finishes. I was introduced to Elegant in Design by my builder. As I was pretty confident in my design style, I wanted someone who was going to help me ‘push the envelope’ to ensure a space that people would wouldn’t have seen before.I looked at Mel’s website and was confident I had the right person.Mel’s skill set is excellent. She listened to what I was looking for and boldly went out to find the right furniture and fabrics to please my very eclectic taste.Never once did I feel like she was choosing options that were ‘for her style’ over mine. We worked alongside Melinda to bring our Fortitude Valley apartment to life - it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Mel was extremely transparent and efficient in her communication throughout the entire process, communicating with both us and contractors to deliver a flawless result. Mel displayed incredible talents with interior design selection, spanning from kitchen fit outs, to appliance selection, bathroom design and living room design also. Even after work had been concluded, Mel was proficient in staying in touch and offering assistance where need be. Truly a wonderful experience all the way through.
