What a lovely experience & look forward to the next time I stay for more than one night. This time I just really needed some quiet time & a good sleep & the twin room I stayed in was all of this and more. I slept so well as the bed was so comfy & clean. The staff & owners were absolutely lovely, obliging, informative & helpful. Great location if you do not have transport & with the tranquil garden area you think you are way out of town. Thank you. I'll be back.

i have had good experiences with my booking with this host. the cleaning team is very friendly and i also saw how they do regular deep cleanings in the rooms. for example, that you push everything away from the walls and clean everything at the back or change the complete protective covers on the mattresses and pillows. I've never seen that at an accommodation before. The staff is very friendly and helpful. it is a nice quiet area and the Eco Lodge also offers tours at a good price. in the dorm room where i slept there are big lockers where you can stow your stuff, enough place for your backpack.the beach is not far, only 5 minutes walkcan only recommend the accommodation!

This place is over pricedDefinitely not worth the priceThe owner is very rude an argentThey even want $2 yes people $2 for a clean towelYou can get a motel for the price they askYou have to walk 15 metres for a smokeBut you will not be told this until you pay for your room. The midges and mosquitoesAre horrendous. The camp kitchen is empty.I would not rate this placeAnd I would never come back to this place. Also the carpark is so small you have to do a 300 Point turn just to get your car outThe trees have not been maintained they scratch your car as you driving it to the drivewayNOT HAPPY

Booked a room in the hostel part, always read reviews before I book and always contact the owner before I would post a negative review. I reached out to the owner after the first night, as the room was so hot even with fans on that I couldn't sleep and was sweating all night. I sleep at home fine with a fan, this room was different. I also told the owners there was at least 6 or more cockroaches running around the floor at night. Who wants to sleep in a room with cockroaches, Do i want them crawling on the bed with me or in my mouth?! I checked for other options for accommodation but everything was booked out being easter and unfortunately i didnt have my mattress in my car to sleep as an alternative. The below was the owners response. The doors were closed and lights were off in the night, i didn't say anything about the place not being clean or roaches being dirty, i don't know anyone who would want to sleep in that room. We're sorry to hear the budget dorm you booked is not what you expected, We do have a 4 share aircon dorm which would have suited you better. Its cooler today so hopefully you're more comfortable tonight. Re cockroaches in the room, My cleaners had a good look in the room and could not find any unfortunately, also our cleaning at the Woolshed is of a high standard so we're positive the cockroaches you've seen are not dirty but highly likely bush cockroaches which live in our gardens. Did you know...Most people think of cockroaches as disease-carrying

I stayed in a lovely room that was very clean and well designed. I thought it was a very cozy place and the kitchen was amazing! Felt just like a lodge. The receptionist was extremely helpful and lovely too. I asked the owners if I could place my bags for storage and they were extremely helpful for bringing my things in and very kind. Both have a good humour! The outdoor area was beautiful and I genuinely really really couldn’t of asked for a better 4 night stay. Close to a lot of restaurants and the beach, the shop is also a nice walk. I like the environment as it was really comfortable. The car park was spacious enough for my car, and I wouldn’t of wanted to stay anywhere else. Big creds to the owners and receptionist! The cleaners were also really lovely and were super funny! Would recommend to anyone I meet!

Most comfortable nights sleep thank you, the bed was simply prefect and warm. Couldn't ask for anything more for the price per night. I'd stay here again no question & recommend to anyone looking to recharge their batteries overnight.

Due to work I have on Fraser island I’ve stayed in all of the hostels in Hervey bay. This hostel is by far the best in the area. The owner goes above and beyond to make your stay relaxed and to keep a nice atmosphere. (This is not a party hostel, more a ‘chill’ hostel)

The owner of this Place is an absolute maniac. Didn’t want to pay 10 dollar for storage until only 6pm since my bus was leaving at 9pm- talked to Flashpackers who keep bags 24 hours long for only 4 dollars. However the reception was closed between 11 and 2 so I could only bring the remaining 2 bags at 2pm. In the meantime I asked a roomie whether I can keep the two bags on his bed till 2 and I will move to the other hostel. He said it’s fine- when I returned my bags have disappeared, thought my roommate had placed it somewhere, just to find out that the maniac of owner stole my bag and wanted ransom of 10 dollars.I have never experienced such a behaviour. I called the local police but they didn’t answer the phone. I will try again- this behaviour cannot go unpunished. I have never experienced such mal behaviour- I have travelled all over the world but this is beyond words.Since we backpackers don’t have much choice of accommodations - he will not run out of guests but I cannot recommend this place at all. Now the remaining people in the room were terrified that he might just walk in and steal their things. He has not rights at all to look through peoples belonging. I hope for the future backpacker that he will close down and more hostels will open up for alternatives. Make sure to lock your bags up!!!On the way to the bus station, I spoke to the taxi driver about this Insane event and he said my story is not so unusual- the owner apparently would regularly walk into rooms and check if people were still sleeping, for example if people went for Fraser Island overnights tours he would just rent out the beds to other people. What a disgrace of a person wanting to earn twice from the same bed.Awful place just try and book early or just keep your stuff safe. The place is to be honest very clean that’s the only good things about it.

Extremely affordable, accomodating and modest accomodation. Really appreciate how contactable you were (given our delayed check in as a result of a delayed flight). Megan was super helpful and will definitely recommend this place to friends and family! Also your little dog is an absolute delight!
