Fishermans Bay Foreshore

Great and safe place to bring kids for a day at the beach, lots of tide pools to explore. Excellent place to snorkel usually very calm with virtually no waves on the shore. After heavy surf however all the seaweed gets trapped in the bay and is best avoided especially because billions of flies are attracted to the seaweed on the shore, little kids especially don't like this and have been seen running and screaming to escape the flying hoard. For families with lots of stuff you can drive your car to the bottom of the hill and quickly unload. This is a popular spot and can only accommodate so many people so I suggest arriving early. No toilets on the beach however aid the street are public toilets that serve as a handy place to change. Take away can be found in Anna Bay or bring a picnic. No shade so unless you want to be in the sun all day bring shelter.

Stayed at fishermans Bay for 3 nights. Had a grwat explore around Newcastle. Here was very nice and quiet. Good views.Beach is fairly rocky, water was freezing for November.

Amazing view, and great fishing. I was pretty much getting bites with every cast. No bait, just lures.

Quiet and tucked away

Nice little bay with a lot of photo opportunities.. small rock pools for kids.

Toilet facilities up the hill and across the road. Beach small and crowded in summer holidays. Otherwise nice enough place.

Beautiful stretch of coast line and national parks which must be protected from over development by the local council and NSW state government.

What a stunning location. Fantastic for families as there is safe swimming due to it being a protected beach. Plenty of coastal rock walks and opportunities to fish, snorkel and kayak.

Love this place! Nice, peaceful family friendly beach. Not so much waves, so it's very good for non-swimmers like me to just wade in the water or enjoy a dip.

A pretty little spot. There are toilets but no shops and the beach isn't patrolled.
