JTB Building have worked with Adam Hobbs from Hobbs Jamieson Architecture on many projects. Having working with many architects over the years, Adam is certainly one of the best.We found that Adam, as the owner of the practice, is intimately involved in all facets of projects. He excels not only in contract management, but also design detail. Adam in heavily involved in preparation of all contract drawings prior to the build and detail resolution throughout the build and as such has a strong connection to the build from concept to completion and takes great pride in the outcome. Adam is present at all site meetings rather than a representative and keeps a meticulous record of all site discussions, outcomes and responsibilities so all parties know what is expected prior to the following site meeting.An important part of any project is communication between the architect, builder and client in order to maintain momentum. Adam is always easy to reach on the phone and addresses all of our emails within a 24hr period which is critical for keeping a project running on time.Adams personable and approachable nature combined with his love for architecture and design has made our experience with Hobbs Jamieson Architecture very enjoyable. We recently completed our 3rd project with Adam and the team at Hobbs Jamieson Architecture. This time a second story addition to our Semi.Adam was engaged to oversee all aspects of the project - Design, Development Application, Tender Process - Builder Engagement as well as Project Managing the build.As with our previous projects we are thrilled with the result and have Adam and his team to thank!Adam design ideas were fantastic, and he made the most of the available footprint to maximise the space for our growing family. Adam was patient in answering our questions and taking on board our feedback.We also relied on Adam’s advice regarding fixtures, fittings and other suppliers.Adam’s ability to clearly communicate and with us, James at One Build Construction (also highly recommended!), Council and other contractors ensured an outstanding result.Overall the project and construction went smoothly and the 2nd story addition was finished on time and budget.I can’t recommend Hobbs Jamieson Architecture highly enough.

Working with Adam Hobbs on a million dollar residential project has been a great and rewarding experience. Hobbs Jamieson Architecture suited us down to the ground. We needed someone to control our renovation from design through to build and Adam did not disappoint. He had the perfect combination of practicality, pragmatism, patience, communication skills and design sensibility. Adam was an excellent project manager and the house was completed on time and on budget. On top of that, our family loves living in our rejuvenated home.

We recently completed a gorgeous renovation and extension to our main home - adding an expansive guest studio above an existing concrete garage. The home is a 1950s retro Hamptonesque style, and we wanted the studio to move the look forward whilst preserving some classic architectural features of the existing design. Contemporary without being stark, less glass more timber, open and fresh, high vaulted ceilings, all taking in the light and the view and feeling like a pool house as well as a guest studio - was the brief.The final design also included a fold-away King bed to make the space multi-purpose, allowing it to be used as an art studio or entertaining space. Wide balconies on three sides adds a luxe feel for guests and allow four sets of bi-folding doors to open outwards and create wonderful flow.Working with Adam Hobbs one of the principals on the project was a pleasure, he and his team were efficient and effectively navigated us through the design, approvals, and construction phases. The project and construction was seamless and proceeded smoothly, and the project was finished on time and more or less on budget, noting that construction has grown increasingly expensive in the last few years.

We are thrilled with the new home that Adam designed for us. He genuinely listened and understood our lifestyle and considered this in how he designed our new home. Adam’s advice throughout the project helped us to balance budget with ambition and to achieve a home that has a wonderfully relaxed feel and that is perfectly suited to our lifestyle. We love that we have been able to retain some of the original features of the existing house whilst blending them gracefully into the new construction. Incredibly talented team with beautiful, functional and creative designs! So very happy we chose to work with Hobbs Jamieson Architecture.
