Not only was it the worst Chinese iv had it was the worst take away food iv ever eaten, it was tasteless, bland and disgusting. will never be eating there again

Very small meals for the price tag.Meat was a bit chewy compared to the soft style meat expected in chinese food.Flavours were different to what im used of from other chinese ive had, for example the mongolian dish tasted more like spicy peking, nothing like what i know as mongolian.However, it wasnt terrible, i ate all i was served.Mini spring rolls were nice, and the girl who served me was lovely, friendly and very helpful

The worst chinese i have ever had, very disappointed. I ordered curried prawns with fried rice, the rice was bland and mushy, and the curry was like slop with a few prawns in it . Dont waste your money here, i was unable to eat my lunch, and i left it on the table and walked out in disgust. Would give 0 stars if that was an option

Ordered the honey chicken, ended up being burnt and had no flavour. Would not recommend buying it again, nor do I think I'd ever come back here again.

Amazing, some of the best Chinese Food I have ever had. We dined in with our two children and the service was amazing. Would recommend their food to anyone.

This Classic Chinese Restaurant with low prices is a hidden gem.This restaurant is an institution. It has been there for around 40 years and is part of local history. And the food is excellent. I just had the satay beef/steak for lunch with fried rice for ten bucks (though night prices are more and they also have around 10 meal choices for a $9 lunch), and it was the best satay I have had for years. I split the meal as it was a big serving.The food is always delicious. Once I phoned and asked for a dish they did not have on the menu and they very kindly made it for me anyway.If you like the traditional Chinese restaurants with laminex topped tables that once covered Australia and showed us there is more to dinner than meat and three veg, then this is the place for you. It is at restaurants like this that we discovered and learned to love foreign" food."

Made a large order tonight!!Was very dissapointed at the quality of food... was very bland and overall not very nice tasting at all. Very overpriced for what it was..the containers were not full and had room for more food. Very dissapointed!!Our order was for a large family of 8 and none of us were very impressed.Will not go back here again!!

This was by far the worst Chinese I've ever had. Not only did one meal + rice take 40mins but it was the most bland, tasteless Chinese I've ever had. Sweet and sour chicken plus special fried rice just tasted of glugy, tasteless nothing. Waste of $25

My family love to eat at this family friendly restaurant, nothing beats going out to dinner & feeling like you amongst friends & family whilst enjoying a great feed. Peter & Amy always make you welcome, love a chat & a good laugh. Thanks guys for the smiles you bringing a smile to the table.

Gum Hon Restaurant
This is by far the best Chinese in Lake Macquarie. Family owned business. Not the fanciest restaurant out there but the food is unbelievable. Worth trying. For the satay lovers out there they have the best satay chicken you have ever tasted.
