This entrance fine for walking but Western entrance has better vehicle access for launching kayaks

Located in the Southern suburbs of Adelaide, Happy Valley Reservoir was completed in 1897. Just over a 30-minute drive from the CBD, you'll have the opportunity to have fun, exercise or relax with family, and friends. Picnicking, fishing, walking, jogging, biking, and kayaking are prominent activities here.Highly recommended.Personally, that afternoon, I sat on the shore and let my soul relax like water. Ripples like waves of emotion gently passed through my mind. I looked down into the clear water and saw the beautiful blue sky and the branches silhouetted against the water.I missed my loved ones.I missed acquaintances and strangers.I missed the days of wandering under the dawn and dreaming of the new sunshine.Life is worth loving!

Website says open Wednesday from 10am got all the way there and it was closed!!!

Lovely environment

We walked the water shore walk, and started in the main car park off Near Kenihans Rd, Happy Valley.The car park was very busy but the walk was not.Enjoyed most of it, the part that runs along Black road is not very pretty.Definitely good for bike riding and good pushchairs.A couple of toilets and water fill points, could do with more. Also BBQs and picnic tables at that gate point.People were kayaking and fishing.Will definitely be back.

Nice spot. But take note. It closes early (8pm I think) and there are no bins on site.So take something to put your rubbish in.

This is the south entrance of Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve. Drive into the parking lot from the roundabout.
