ALDI

Unfortunately my experience at Wonthaggi Aldi today was terrible. The check out assistant (I have never seen before) decided to reprimand me in front of other customers for not using the other bay for loading my (very small amount) shopping. As a long term Aldi customer, I am 100% aware of the need to pack your stuff fast (or toss in a trolley) but on this occasion, I was loading my items into a cardboard box. I was quickly packing, as she checked the items out and had about 5 small things still to place on top when it came time to pay. I said I would just put the items in the box and then pay as I had left my handbag in the car and was juggling my keys, phone, purse and shopping items in my hand and needed my hands free to make the payment. But, this wasn't good enough and she decided to tell me that 'for future reference' the other bay was for loading shopping after you've paid and it wasn't her fault but this was Aldi policy and she was just telling me. I replied and said I didn't think anyone would mind waiting 60 seconds while I put those few last items into the box (a couple of lemons, a piece of ginger and 2 packs of paracetamol) before I paid - but she replied to this again and said that was why the bay was there and repeated the Aldi policy to me.I know how frustrating it is to be in the queue waiting for someone who takes an eternity to pack a vast quantity of items and am conscious of never doing this. This was not that kind of event. It is also amusing as, before I was served, I had been patiently waiting in the queue while the checkout assistant failed to get the pay-wave working for the customer before me!!I don't like being told off in a queue in front of other people and I don't like being called 'love' by someone while they tell me off. Pretty sure most people wouldn't like this either.I felt bullied and humiliated.Some training in customer service and common sense is needed here.

Always love the speed and lack of decision making that comes with Aldi

Great team of staff. Always helpful and friendly. Went in yesterday and was searching for couple items. Staff were terrific and sorted me out.

It took me years to get over the anxiety of keeping up with the groceries coming at me. Knowing you have the dual packing area at the end takes the pressure off. Thank you.

Easy car parking, good large store with all the good things Aldi carries, including the special buys.staff are friendly and helpful. Recommended.

Always fun to see what they have for sale in the centre aisles.. alot cheaper than the other supermarkets.

This was a big ALDI! Needed because of the lack of other supermarkets in the area. Usual ALDI standards. Good place to shop
