Pieman - Cleveland

I have enjoyed every pie & sausage roll I bought there, and I would always get one when I pass by on my walks.

Unfortunately I found the pie was a disappointment, especially after hearing how good people were saying it was.I had the beef and tomatoe pie, with mashed potatoe mushypeas and gravy.The latter was ok, but the gravy was ordinary, not much flavour, lots of salt. I guess it was a powder mix.The pie was the disappointment. Two big bits of gristle and three pieces of beef and not very big pieces. Considering it was a pie, those pieces of meat were tough and chewy.There was so much of that gravy, I couldn't see any onion, it looked all blended together. I did find some tomatoe skins in the fill, so tomatoes were in there somewhere.If these are the best pies in Cleveland, then we are doomed. I have had better gourmet pies from the freezer section in Coles, for less.

I get my family to buy Gluten free pies and sausage rolls from here and bring them to me in Tasmania when they visit. Best gf pies I’ve tried anywhere.

Having worked late, we stopped for a Family pie to have for dinner.First issue is family Pie" is a bit of a stretch

Purchased a Steak Pie, adding mushy peas. The pie was one of the nicest pies I've eaten in the past few weeks, and I eat a pie for lunch or morning smoko most days. Real pieces of chunky steak in a nice gravy, and the pastry is nice and light, not doughy.Not the cheapest pie, but also not ridiculous dollars, and well worth it on taste. I'll be coming back again...

Excellent pies and super friendly staff. Very clean. Also had gluten free pies that you can call ahead and reserve. Great for celiacs as they have a separate oven to prepare for you.
