Don's Mechanical & Diesel

Have been using Don's mechanical to maintain our private vehicles for the past 2 years after moving away from the dealer servicing. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Big tick on all the important things, reliable, friendly, fair pricing, knowledgeable and above all very honesty.

I’m from Victoria and broke down in Adelaide. Dons mechanical worked for hours to sort the problem for why the car had no power etc. thanks to the Don’s team for helping me out so I I was able to get the car fixed and get home to Vic.

What can I say, the mechanic that worked on my car was nice enough but failed to replace the brake booster satisfactorily, the brake pedal had almost zero free play and after finding the clevis pin that connects the brake pedal to the booster on the floor mat I took it into another mechanic that identified that indeed the clevis pin had fallen out due to a non existent split pin, the booster push rod not adjusted correctly and the push rod lock nut not locked off. I had this written into a report which is attached. I've then rang and spoken to Don requesting that the $230 invoice for the rework be reimbursed and explained the report detailing the unsatisfactory maintenance conducted. His response being that the report means nothing to him and he'd only be willing to reimburse half the invoice! I chose Don's Mechanical because of its high google rating and good reviews unfortunately this time round it didn't reflect and I was left with half a job done and half a reimbursement. Had Don accepted some responsibility and reimbursed the full invoice amount of $230 I would have been somewhat satisfied with the outcome and wouldn't have written this review. Lesson is, don't be cheap!

My wife and I have both been to Don's mechanical for each of our vehicles and have been back up and running very promptly. Thank you for your good work and efficient service.

I recently used Don's Mechanical at Newton as a 'first time customer'. I was really impressed. We had some issues after the first repair and Don personally ensured that this was rectified through dealing with the third party parts supplier himself (the replacement part was faulty/failed) and not only made sure the second repair was completed faultlessly, I am sure he went beyond the initial scope to ensure I was a satisfied customer.This 'after sales' service is rare these days. I rarely write reviews, but was so impressed that I felt compelled to do so in this instance!

Couldn’t thank the team there more . Very professional , fixed my issue fast , great communication and very very honest / trustworthy operation . Great old time service and great price.

Don is a true professional and attended to a power drain in my daughters vehicle. After extensive testing he engaged with me to discuss the outcome as he found no fault and did not charge me ! Real service thanks Don

I have been using Don's Autos for a couple of years.They were only too happy to go out of their way to help me on several occasions, and the cost to me was very minimal, in fact on one occasion, didn't charge me at all. Although Don spent time trying to find a problem and also replacing a fuse, didn't charge. I think that's great Customer Service and good Public Relations.The Staff are always happy to see you and engage in conversation.You are treated friendly and always seem to have time for you.I have no hesitation in recommending them.
