The Commonwealth Hotel
Easy to find and quite clean place !- Bar in the main lobby with a pool table and outside sitting area.- Small and clean rooms with comfy bed.- The kitchen only has a small microwave, fridge and toaster.- Friendly staff, although it’s super weird that the hostel reception is at the bar.- Quite good value for money this hostel!- The people having a drink at the bar are super weird and dodgy, over all I found Townsville to be a dodgy place over all.- If in Townsville again, I would not mind staying at the place again.- The hostel looks like it’s in the Wild West which is cool.

All the staff are great. My wife won a competition run by them that included a room, $100 bar tab & 2 tickets to the Cowboys vs Warriors game. Thank you all for being so friendly and helpful. Also the live music that night was spot on.HIGHLY RECOMMEND ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Came for the Regurgitator and Custard night. I really enjoyed it.The Commonwealth Hotel has gone through some rather extensive beer garden renovations, which make it not only a great dining venue but a perfect location for live entertainment.The food on offer during the concert was well planned and very affordable. The drinks on offer were also very well priced.Limited table seating was available, but as my friend and I arrived early, we were lucky enough to be able to acquire a table.The best bit for me with this event was that it was less than 500m from where I lived, which made it extra convenient. I can't wait to see what else the Commie has in store for live music!

Very kid-friendly. Has a spacious outdoor area, with delicious cafe and pub food available. Great beers on tap with friendly recommendations from staff!

Staff were fantastic and always helpful, food was great and everyone was satisfied. The atmosphere is fantastic and everyone with kids had them catered for with the playground. Live music was such a great vibe to the whole venue. Will certainly be back ❤️

Awesome pub. Organized a kids basketball function here. Great atmosphere in the beer garden with live music. Plenty of helpful staff.The meals were super tasty at great prices.Definitely recommend and will go back

Good feed and cold beer. Stopped in for lunch midway through soccer carnival at Victoria Park, quick walk down, chicken burger and a few schooners, back to soccer, good times.

Had lunch here, great outdoor area, plenty of tables, clean and friendly staff. Food was delicious, well presented and plentiful. Thanks for a great atmosphere. See you again

I was there for my daughters 40th birthday and I tell you we couldn't have asked for better service. The staff were very supportive and obliging. The kids had a ball playing in Kids Play Area, which allowed the parents to have a chat. It's an old pub but so well looked after. The canopy areas out the back really lend to a great atmosphere where you can watch the live footy or sit back and listen to the live music. It is a great place to have a work function, a birthday or end-of-year Christmas party. We will be back.
