Impeccable service from Ian. Thanks Ian for being practical & allowing me to pick up my car earlier & upgrading to a 4wd. You have made my trip so much more special. The 4wd has allowed me to access places I couldn’t have otherwise with a 2wd like The Station at El Questro. Thank you once again.

After having our day tour cancelled without notice on a Sunday, Budget Kununurra came to our rescue and organised a car for the day for us. Effecient and friendly service together with tips for where to go.

Ian was very thorough and it’s clear he takes pride in his job. Well done.

The process was very easy and competitive for the area. Staff were helpful and friendly too. The car was clean and in good condition. The fact I got the smallest little stone thrown up by a passing vehicle and a tiny crack the left hand side of windscreen NB. Most roads in Kununurra have got loose gravel. This cost me all up $1100 for a day trip to Lake Argyle. If anyone is here for the weekend and want to hire a car to go sight seeing DONT RISK IT. This was with extra insurance as well. Get a tour instead cheaper and you get lunch included.

I wouldn't usually bother reviewing a car hire business but Ian from Budget was the most helpful and friendly person I have ever dealt with at a car hire place. I met other travellers in kununurra who also hired from Ian and said the exact same thing. He is an excellent representative for Budget and also for Kununurra!

We've rented a 4wd Ute during 7 days at your Kununurra's agency. We intended to visit the Kimberley along the Gibbs road, which is actually a track. The local agent advised us to remain on the Gibbs road and El Questro, not to cross the bush. We followed his advises. We came back with some superficially scratches on the plastic front. The agency charge us 800$ for the repairs.I understand that tourism in the Kimberley is not the usual activity of an international company like Budget. But the Kununurra's agency seems to develop this activity, and just received a fleet of brand new Ute for that purpose. Renting a Ute to visit the Kimberley is not like renting an ordinary car. The Kununurra's agency can't have the same policy as for usuals cars. It'll bring only trouble with customers.In addition, the insurance do not intervene below 1700$ !

Disappointed that we could not even go onto serviced gravel or road base areas with the car we hired. No expectation that we were going off road or navigate river crossings. We reverted to tours and did not get the value of the car we hired. Could have hired a less expensive option with the minimal running around we did - wrong choice on our part. Staff was helpful and friendly enough and service could only be rated as high.

Ian from Budget went above and beyond for my sister and I on multiple occasions. In addition to the car hire service, he offered us transfers to pick up the car from our hotel, arranged transfers for us to get to and from Lake Argyle and provided us with lots of local tips about activities and attractions in Kununurra - all with a fantastic sense of humour in tact! There’s no looking beyond Budget when hiring a car in Kununurra! Thank you :)
