Tassie Motor Shacks

Had a great experience with Tassie. They picked us up from the airport and within 20 minutes we we're in the van and ready to go. We did the bare bones rental so not even linens are included. There was all the kitchen equipment, two gas cookers and one electric. The owners gave us lots of books and suggestions on places to go, even some extra old towels for the floor because it was pouring. Vehicle was older but we had no issues. I'd definitely go with Tassie again. They we're just as friendly and helpful at drop off.

Rob and Jo gave us a great experience. They collected us promptly from the airport, walked us through the camper van, gave us helpful tips on our travel plans and we were off. The Camper van was well designed and throughout for the two of us. When we had a slight problem with the van (no biggy) they were quick to respond. We couldn't rate Tassie Motor Shacks more highly! Incredibly friendly customer service above and beyond what you expect, and the van was in great condition. They were also very accommodating, especially during the current health situation where we had to cut our Tasmania road trip short by 2 weeks! They provided us with a full refund which we are so grateful for. Hoping we can make it back to Tasmania to pick off where we left off, and we will be looking to re-book with Tassie Motor Shacks!

My boyfriend and I spend a week inside one of their van and it was amazing! Rob took the time to show us everything about the van and to explain what was expected from us at the end (to clean the van, fuel up and fill up the water tank).It is a small family business and it is perfect that way! The van was really clean, well equiped, easy to drive and comfy inside. It is easy to discuss with them and they are ready to help you if they can !Friendly and serious people that we highly recomend :) !!!

What a personable, efficient local company. Everything was explained so carefully, with lots of useful tips for our trip and useful extras in our beautiful campervan. They did not let us down. Clean, tidy and a fine Sprinter made for the perfect holiday in Tassie! Thanks guys for the exceptional service. It's a rare thing these days!!!!

Fantastic owner operated small business. So much better than renting from a big name corp. These guys exceeded our expectations and made our trip to Tassie even better than we’d hoped. Amazing vans that are filled with thoughtful extra amenities. We had a Toyota Hiace which was perfect for the two of us. Would definitely rent from Tassie Motor Shacks again and recommend to anyone else to do the same.

We rented a Tassie Motor Shack van and couldn't have been happier. From the first minute when we were picked up at the airport it felt like we made the right choice to book here. The owners Rob and Jo were very welcoming, well prepared, organized and took their time to make us feel happy and comfortable with our new temporary home. The camper was in a very good shape, was clean and equipped with everything you need for a good time.Without anything to worry about the stunning nature of Tasmania was even better :).Unfortunately we had an accident towards the end of our trip. But even then Rob and Jo helped us quickly and in any way they could to find a good solution. We were even able to finish our trip with an alternative van.Especially for us, usually living on the other side of the planet, it was good to have someone helpful anf friendly by your side in this situation.All in all we left Tassie with truckloads of wonderful memories and are grateful for having met such lovely people like Rob and Jo and everything they have done for us.Next time Tassie: We already know where to get a camper :).

We hire vehicles on most holidays we go on. This is the best company we've ever hired from. They're a small family fun business but there is a reason why they have such good reviews. Rob and Jo made us feel very welcome from the start, the van was spotless and very well equipped and there was none of the faceless animosity that you get when you sometimes hire from a bigger company. Fully recommend!

Look no further for travelling Tassie by campervan! By far the best quality and value out there from a family run business. I rented a 2 birth hi top which had everything you need to cook and relax. Free collection and drop to the airport also. No problems for the week. Would highly recommend!

Hired a 2 person hi top van for 3 wk Tassie trip. On the plus side everything supposed to be in van was there including a shovel and staff were easily contactable.On the minus- Being smaller the office is open shorter hours than the big companies. There were several niggly problems, eg electric windows sporadically not working (tricky in the rain), van difficult to hill start (old clutch and awkward handbrake) maps very old and ripped, linen pack provided was only top sheet, pillow slips, towels and doonah no bottom sheet or extra blanket- we had to buy extra sheet and blanket on the way, then despite cleaning the van in and out we were charged $150 for cleaning which was disappointing.Overall would choose differently next time.
