Metro Mirage Hotel Newport

Would not recommend staying here ! Quite expensive for the room !Room had a smell , couches stained , ordered a room with the spa And when I hopped in a disgusting red film came out and filled the bath !!Towel rack also right above toilet. Aircon was loud and I don’t even know if it worked properly and the roof was falling in .The outside pool was the nicest part of our stay , with a nice view and decent sized . But defiantly would not stay again.

4-star hotel? You’re having a laugh. Worst hotel ever. Stayed for 3 nights and discovered an extra member in our room on night one (see pic). It was still there on night 3 . . . AFTER 3 cleans.The rooms are disgusting and the lobby is in shambles. How these guys remain in business is beyond me. For the money these thieves are stealing from you, they should be updating the rooms inside and out to the 4stars they claim to be. Shame on you Metro Mirage Hotel!

Excellent location, gorgeous waterfront view, although needs renovation. Bed was very uncomfortable. Fantastic outdoor waterfront pool. Can be a bit loud due to The Newport next door.

Location is great. Over priced for the standard of accommodation and amenities offered.Common areas are unclean and not maintained, car parking area is horrific to get in and out of, and our room definitely needs maintenance. Also relaxing by the pool is near impossible due to no pool chairs or sun beds! Overall the hotel is neglected and clearly the manager is taking no pride in what they offer - the reality is the place could have a really cool retro vibe if only they bothered to think about the environment they are providing for their customers.On reading the reviews they have had plenty of opportunity to take on feedback and make some changes but have not.Basically book here for the location if you must, but not for the environment or the service. Although for the price you pay I suggest you could find better elsewhere.

The rooms are filthy and the whole hotel overall is severely run-down. Nothing has been maintained or fixed, and the window tracks are absolutely disgusting! Ours was filled with dead bugs, grime, dust and a massive spider which you can tell had been there for ages. The room smelt mouldy; we didn't want to touch anything. The extractor fan in the bathroom also didnt work. Not worth the money at all - I recommend avoiding at all costs.

Reading the reviews, we actually packed our own pillows, sheets and towels expecting the worst. Surprisingly we didn’t need to use them! Clean sheets, fresh towels and pillows were fine. Room was clean, staff friendly.There is an obvious damp issue at the hotel that will not be an easy fix. Despite this, there really is nowhere else to stay in the area, so the place obviously gets booked out regardless of reviews due to the excellent location.My advice, expect the worst and you might be pleasantly surprised like I was. Our room was a basic double room on second floor. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom small but clean.

Our company has recently been to Newport Mirage Hotel to photograph one of our client's wedding - Teegan & Russell, all we can say is the hotel staff was very professional and nice to our team!From a wedding photographer's point of view Metro Mirage Hotel has some really nice epic view and its so easy to work around the place for some nice photo background.I do recommend couples to book this venue for their own wedding! I have attached some photos we shot over there!

Stayed one night there. Would not stay again. The place is very tired and falling apart. The air conditioning in our room did not work so we cooked throughout the night. The fan in the bathroom did not work either. Would have been better off sleeping in the car. Avoid if you can.

Whilst set I in a lovely location, access to the car park is tight as shown by the pai twork left on the walls. The outside generally looks tired. The impression does not change on entry. The best part was the shower that was powerful. The bathroom was however only big enough for one person at a time. Outside there was just a view of the water if you looked down the edge if the building but the main view was other properties entrance and a redevelopment. Whilst the star rating may be correct it does not attain the standards that other hotels of the same grade would provide as standard. Would never return and will stop the agent using it too.

Service was good, bed was comfortable and quiet room considering it was next to a pub on a Friday night. The rooms could do with an upgrade but everything was functional.
