Schultz Mechanical Repairs

Unfortunately we won't be back. We booked in over a month prior for full maintenance on our vehicle which due to unforseen circumstances was well overdue. They changed the oil, air filter & a couple of minor items. They chose not to replace the spark plugs or leads, instead they chose to tell me that the spark plugs, all leads & coils plus all radiator hoses needed replacing. This business knew what type of car it was, knew it was in dire need of a bucket load of maintenance & why it had missed out on it's normal care, they knew all this over 4 wks in advance yet they still chose not to ensure that the general parts were in stock for this to happen. I spent all day in Clare waiting, they had it for about 5 hours & it does not run any better afterwards than it did when I dropped it off. They did run a diagnostic on the check engine light & found that there were only 3 spark plugs working. But obviously that fact was not a sufficient reason to replace any of the plugs or leads. They were specifically requested & given permission to do whatever was needed to the car. When I asked how quickly they could get the parts & finish the job, I was told close to another 3 weeks. This is outrageously negligent on their behalf. I need that car to get to Adelaide for scheduled medical appointments. This car struggled to get me home, 40kms away. It is not going to get me to Adelaide in a weeks time. We were looking for a new regular mechanic as ours retired in our town. 2 vehicles needing regular maintenance. It will not be Schultz Mechanical. This total ineptness defies belief, this is not a professional outfit looking after customers & their vehicles.

BEWARE !! Do not get work done without at least getting an estimate first. I came with my very old single axle trailer which needed a pin that held the suspension to the chassis replaced. It was a half hour job max and I told them up front that I needed the absolute minimum of work done on it because I was unemployed. But Instead of just replacing the pin which was essentially a long bolt, they decided to start improving the mechanism by introducing bushes , but only on the one side of the trailer.. so its pretty obvious that they were creating unnecessary work for themselves I had also pointed out that the wires to the tail light were cut and needed to be crimped but they didn't even bother with the tail light. Instead they decided to repack the bearing on the wheel when they originally commented that they would just put on a new dust cap on the wheel. the They then charged me $468 for what they claimed to be 3 hours work. These guys are sharks who have grossly overcharged me .
