My traditional land

Fairly busy when we visited on Dec 29. The quality of the sites varies a lot. Some sites appeared to be nice and grassy and flat. Others were very open and covered in soft dirt. Risky for bogging, quite messy and unattractive. I assume the dirt has been placed there to fill in some bigger bog holes and wheel ruts, so presumably it is a necessary but temporary measure and will get better in time as the dirt settles and some grass grows.The river through the site is freezing but clean - good for bathing.There was a lot of free firewood at the site when we visited, but the pieces are large so you will need an axe and BYO kindling.Be aware there is no fuel in the area so plan to fill up in Orbost or Bombala, depending on which way you are heading!

Great place to camp. Plenty of sites available as well as a reasonably clean pit toilet.

Starting to venture farther from home base ,very glad we made this trip , beautiful ride up to the campgrounds ,met family there for a wonderful day enjoying the natural beauty of the area , once again another great area to camp ,or meet family and friends and have a birthday party... also seen two liar birds on the way up..happy trails....
