Came with my toddler for a takeaway babycino. Brought our own tiny keepcup. They charged me $3. I made a comment “$3? For babycino…?” The owner replied “yes, some places $4.50” I said that’s the price for a regular or large coffee. Got our babycino and it was 2/3 foam, barely any milk. In an area full of good cafes, I will not be coming back.

I was looking for somewhere on Johnson st for a Sandwich and saw this French Cafe so I thought I would give it a try. I walked in and saw a Sandwich maker, which Is what I wanted.I ordered a toasted cheese, ham and tomato sandwich on turkish bread. I asked how long it would be and he said 'two minutes', which I thought was strange. As a toasted sandwich usually takes longer to toast the bread and melt the cheese, the sandwich was $9 which is more than I wanted to pay, but as long as it was good I didn't care.Whilst waiting I noticed that the man behind the counter who served me and another lady were not wearing masks. I pointed to mine and said 'do you have a mask'? The guy who I assumed was the owner was very rude and said 'we're closing'.When my 'sandwich' arrived I noticed it wasn't Turkish Bread, nor was it toasted. They had simply put a frozen unfresh baguette in the oven and then slapped the ingredients inside. I asked why they didn't use the sandwich maker and the man, whose picture I will share started screaming at me. I said the baguette sandwich wasn't toasted, and he replied by screaming 'it is toasted'. Pointing to a burnt section on the bread. My definition of 'toasted' was done in a Sandwich maker and the cheese melted.I never expected the worker/owner to be so aggressive. To be screamed at for simply asking a question is unacceptable and when I asked for my money back he got really aggressive. I took a step back and thought he was going to hit me. I said I would call the police and then on fear of being attacked I left the shop.Aggressive man aside, I don't expect to tell a French Cafe how to make a toasted sandwich. The sandwich looked disgusting, who the hell puts a baguette in an oven so it's like a brick and then puts the bad quality plastic ham and one piece of cheese inside.Avoid like the plague.

Decent local Cafe with brekkie and sandwiches. Toast was burnt this morning which seems like a dealbreaker and tomatoes also like burnt but I didn't want to try them. Still good coffee and not bad menu for lighter meals. Service was OK.

Very rude owner. Walked in just to check the pastries but the owner gave me a sudden hostile response when I said I was just looking. “Yeah looking is for free” .. what does that even mean? So unwelcoming.

Firstly, this place should not be mistaken for a French-inspired cafe, despite the name. There was no traces of genuine cuisine on the menu and especially since hanging a French framed poster on the wall next to a maneki-neko does not scream authenticity to me.Secondly, the display case showing various pastries and sandwiches appeared to be made off the premises. The one positive I have to this place was it must purely be running on the wages of locals who come for the coffee but probably not the food.I ordered the ham, cheese and tomato melt". Silly me to think that a cafe that charges over 10 dollars would use something other than cheap white bread
