Had the worst experience with Smythe Wozniak Lawyers when we purchased our first home. Would never recommend them to anyone expecting professionalism and competency. Suzanna made the purchasing of our first home so stressful as she was clueless about our contract and arrangement at our first meeting (despite receiving the contract ahead of time). She also expressed great worry about not meeting settlement date, despite us asking her to meet earlier to prevent any issues to which she responded that it was fine to meet 2 days before the cooling off period ended. Our broker had to fix her mistakes as she tried to set us up with an account that we did not need. Not once throughout the process did we have faith in her to get the job done to prevent us having to pay additional fees. Suzanna was extremely disorganised and vague, making forward planning difficult. We were not told until a couple hours before settlement how much we would have to pay all up, which made it difficult to ensure we had sufficient amounts within our accounts to make the purchase. We informed the firm of our issues and we never heard back, except when the secretary sent us our invoice.
