Played Strathalbyn Golf Club on 24/4/17.Very cheap $10 green fee for all day access via honesty box (clubhouse is open limited hours).It looks like some serious work has been put into this course in recent years, with the couch greens & surrounds in good condition.Some fairways are couch with others recently sown with couch and preferred lies in play.This course will keep getting better over the years as the couch greens & fairways bed in over time.Course is 9 holes, a good mix of long & short par 3's, 4's & 5's as well as some left & right dogleg holes.Front & back nines are played from different tees giving the course a respectable distance of around 5900m from the men's blue tees.The course featured scrubby treelined fairways, with some massive redgums, and is reasonably undulating.The short par 3 6th played over a gully would be the signature hole but there are a number of other very good holes here.Definitely recommend a game at SGC.
