I'm sure the locals would like the quality of the food they have available. I myself am not a local, but was told its one of the better old school fish & chip shops in the area. The service & location is on point sure, grab your food & head down the beach. But for me it was the quality of the food for the price. That's the objection. Far to expensive for very basic fish & chips When there are so many other places to compare with.

Best chips we've had in YEARS. The fish was also delicious, the burger was huge and yummy.But those chips.....not frozen and uniform, real chips.

The calamari rings were not fresh calamari rings but the frozen meat kind. So tasted awful and very small. The battered fish burger was 2 fish cocktails inside a stale bread roll and tomato & lettuce. Partner thought the chicko roll was better.The prawn cocktail/battered at $3 each were not worth it; half the size of other ones at other fish and chip shops. So not worth the price.The potato scallops were okay; could have been bigger but at least had potato I could see in there.So very disappointing lunch ; paid over $25 and would never go back.
