Novotel Sydney Darling Square
The service has disappointingly dropped significantly. We’ve stayed here many times but were dissatisfied with the service on this occasion. The main issue was going for a swim and noticing there were no towels. I went down to reception who advised me they will send some immediately. After a 20 minute swim there were still no towels. I rang reception on mobile from the pool deck twice but it rang out both times. I had to drip dry and go to reception wet to advise there were still no towels . I requested the manager call me so I can lodge a formal complaint- he/ she never did. We also booked a room for 3 people only to arrive to a room with no additional bed. The bed was brought in but additional towels were forgotten every morning- had to request them. The used glasses were also not replaced when the room was made up. Upon checking out they did not validate my parking ticket properly and I got stuck trying to exit the car park. Had to go back and park the car, return to the hotel and have them validate the ticket correctly. Very disappointed, the service level has dropped, certainly didn’t feel like a valued guest.

A 3-4⭐️ hotel with a refurbishment during covid. Courteous efficient staff. Rooms fine for business travellers. Comfortable beds, A/C was quiet & worked well as did fridge, very clean. I was in. North facing room on 3rd floor & street noise was significant. I've stayed in rooms on the entrance (S) side and not had that issue. It wasn't bad enough to request a room change. Breakfast was typical buffet, reasonably priced. Good enough, but I ate only one then chose to go out for a fresh cooked breakfast. Big advantage is it's location just 4-5 mins away from the Sydney International Convention Centre. 5 minutes to Chinatown, 10 mins to CBD George Street Light Rail. 4 rather than 5 just because of the noise.

Spent 3 nights here. Located in a nice location, surrounded by shopping malls, eateries, etc. Rooms were new and modern. Breakfast was a boring yet the staff were super friendly and helpful.

I would like to thank Jacqueen in the reception, Akshay for assisting us with our needs during breakfast and Bidhya for making nice coffee for us... the location is the best plus the room is cozy. We were treated like what we expected especially by Jacqueen. This is one of the best holidays I'd ever had ❤️

This hotel was amazing. The staff were polite and kind and were very welcoming. the buffet breakfast was delicious and very affordable, the gym and the pool were fun and enjoyable.

Good place to stay. Clean and comfortable. Right in the heart of the city with good restaurants within walking distance. Good for a business trip. Room service menu was a bit sparse and not too many options for vegetarians.

Cost cutting perhaps??Barely warm showers, dirty towels, no bottled water in room.I have stayed in this hotel dozens of times over the past 10 years and this last stay will have been my last....very disappointing!!The lady at reception was kind enough to move me to another room after the first night of having cold showers but did comment to me that it may be no better in the new room. It was slightly better but nowhere near hot. After speaking with other hotel guests at breakfast it seemed to be a common complaint.Once again extremely disappointing!!4 weeks later and I have had a reply and yes, the customer experience manager did get in touch and was very apologetic. He said that he wanted to win me over and make up for the terrible experience offering me a discount on my next stay as well as a few other freebies, all of which he would confirm in an email....and what a surprise....IT DIDN'T SHOW UP!!THE DISAPOINTMENT CONTINUES....

Fabulous service. We arrived at mid night yesterday, check in was fast. After we entered our room, realised that we booked wrong type of room. I went to the reception to ask if possible to change to king size room. the lady said no problem with that, and send new key to our room in a very short time. Room is clean, hotel location is good! Breakfast buffet is average. Very friendly staff!

Nice and clean. Great breakfast buffet. A nice little lobby bar opens at 4 pm for a quick pint or cup of tea. A full Pub (The Pumphouse) is on the other end with a nice lunch menu. Located in Chinatown there are plenty of dining and shopping options.

We paid extra for the deluxe room with a city view. We were placed on the third floor and our view" was a tree
