Don't book the Queen studio room and you will probably have a lovely stay. The property is beautiful, the renovations are tasteful. There is a small pool with spa and a poolside bar with pizza oven, as well as electric vehicle charging.Unfortunately our room (no 10) had an overwhelming smell of damp/mould which made it extremely unpleasant. The carpet near the bathroom was soggy and a likely contributor, but I suspect the water pipe and damp corner which the only window opens to also played its part. The room itself is tiny, I hadn't realised how tiny and would have booked the next size up if I'd known. That being said, it was fine for an overnight stay and had everything needed. The view from the rooms is amazing however room 10 is mostly blocked by the large family suite next door, another reason to avoid this room.If not for the horrendous smell this would have been a 4 possibly 5 star review.A disappointing experience at what seems a nice venue.

We had a clamping tent for 2 nights. The tent is very much clamping! Beautiful, comfortable bed, amazing view from bed. Very well equipped kitchenette. Bathroom is lovely with a fabulous deep bath. The Lodge is situated approx 2km from Bellingen. We did think of walking into the town for dinner but it is a major road and no street lights. We grabbed a cab which was $15.We had a peak at the motel units which have been totally renovated, they look fantastic too. The pool & spa area is also beautifully presented.

This lodge is definitely 4.5 star (not 3 star as advertised). Brand new refurb, comfy massive king bed, quality fixtures, contemporary decor & stunning view on well manicured, pretty acreage

To say that this lodge is great is an understatement. It’s got great rooms, very clean, amazing views of the valley (see the picture from outside our room in the morning).

I have never felt so ostracised and unwelcome at a hotel before. Beware, if you book pet friendly accommodation here, this hotel is not pet or pet owner friendly. We booked several months ago and in speaking to reception we were told that they had a pet friendly room and that pets were allowed anywhere on the property along with outside at the restaurant. We went ahead and booked even though they charge an extra $55 per night per dog and we have 2. 4 days prior to our stay, we received an email stating that the restaurant would not be open during our stay though the dates listed were in the past so I figured it had been sent in error. When we arrived we were told the restaurant had not been open for over a year. Considering our intention had been to stay at the hotel as much as possible this was a real disappointment and something that should be advised upon booking. Whilst the restaurant link on the website states ‘our restaurant is temporarily closed and will reopen soon’ I didn’t actually click on that tab as the person I spoke to mentioned that we would be able to sit outside at the restaurant with our dogs so I made an assumption that there was one! I can only assume that the person on reception that day had thought the restaurant would be back open by our stay. They really need to remove all mention of food and Restaurant from the website as it’s extremely misleading. I don’t think burnt pre made pizza (very burnt) is enough to warrant this line that appears on their website ‘the best of Australian food and hospitality’ Upon check in, we were greeted with documents to sign which listed a bunch of things the dogs were not allowed to do. Had I been provided this document upon booking I never would have booked. The do’s and don’ts included, not being allowed at the pool bar, being on lead at all times, and not being left in the room alone. So essentially we were confined to the room, the worst room on the property that faces the car park as opposed to all the other rooms that face the mountains. The room where staff drive up and park their buggies next to constantly throughout the day making any sort of plans for a nap go out the window. So we were forced to pay an additional $110 per night though we were not allowed to use the only facility open at the lodge being the pool bar. We signed the document but asked to speak with the manager. The manager made no attempt to contact us during our stay. Upon opening my door one day, I found a huge dog digging its way under the fence to the pool bar. It then started running around the outside fence along where all the rooms are, it was whining and clearly distressed. Considering I had signed a document stating my two small dogs would remain on a lead at all times, I assumed this dog had escaped from somewhere. I then met a staff member at the pool fence, I had a brief conversation with him that it’s a shame I can’t use the pool facility because I have dogs and that I could tie them up under the tree on the grass area and sit with them, it became obvious that he knew exactly who I was and i soon realised that he was the manager. He was very dismissive and went about his business, it was obvious he had no intention of having the conversation with me at all. You can imagine my surprise when I told him there was a huge dog running around off lead when he said it was his girlfriends dog, he clearly knew it was out there and had no intention of doing anything about it. A big scary dog that could eat a small child in one bite, not at all like my two tiny dogs that wouldn’t hurt a fly. So we couldn’t go to any of the National parks as planned because we couldn’t leave the dogs in the room and we couldn’t use the hotel facilities, the room had a bar fridge and microwave so we couldn’t store or prepare food, the shower was broken and cold, I’m at the text limit but there is so much more I would like to warn others about. Sadly it was a terrible experience to end our holiday.

My partner and I had an absolutely beautiful experience at The Lodge. This was our second time staying here and we were blown away with the service. Myles went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, despite all the rain! The room was modern, comfortable, and had everything you needed. The alpacas are also a great addition to the property. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting Bellingen, we will certainly be back to visit!
