We ate here a lot during lockdowns and are a loyal fan of their sandos. Finally tried eating in and still as tasty as I remembered! The Teishoku is very delicious, perfect portion for a lunch (expensive though) but ingredients taste high quality! Chicken sando is still amazing, very homey flavour overall!

RUDE! seriously do not spend your money here. worst customer service in melbourne! everything started out normal, until the staff member told me to take my own plates, water, napkins and menus upstairs. absolutely baffling and confusing as a paying customer, expecting regular hospitality. after 30 minutes neither herself or another person came to take our dinner order, let alone a drink order.after all that time we came downstairs wondering what had happened – to which she told me she was too busy to come upstairs and take our order and that she had other things to do. she did not even apologise for her mistake and for keeping us waiting. she continually made excuses and laughed at us. i cannot believe how extremely rude and alienating this person was, implying that we were not worth serving and that she would rather be a terrible person than have $100+ worth of food and drink going into the till that night.finally she said that she does not care if we do not return, while also laughing and snickering. absolutely ridiculous behaviour and i in fact will not be returning and will not be shy to share my thoughts with others either. as a collingwood resident and a former regular customer here, wishing you all the best with your business – with a waitress like this who knows how many more customers you will lose.

Overall good experience. Dishes looked fancy. The salmon sashimi was a bit too salty, which made the following dishes tasted plain... Vegetarian katsu curry was undesirably sweet... Disappointed that the menu got much smaller.

The food is nice and the staff are friendly. A katsu curry on rice for $27 is more than you would pay at most places and I can't really justify it. However the katsu sandwich did get a strong approval and at $18 probably would have been a better lunch choice. The other meals were all enjoyed by our team and are of a consistent quality. So I'll probably consider Wabi Sabi more as a dinner option rather than lunch in future.

The portion size was ridiculously small, not even a full meal. There was hardly any taste, just felt like fish, rice, soy sauce and some nice veg. Very average. This is what I’d expect for $15, not $30.

Haven’t been to this place for ages! Glad we got a table straight away on Friday night. After 7 pm they got busy, best to have a reservation. We didn’t have to wait long for our meal to come. My tan tan noodle was so so but the barramundi set was super delicious. Definitely will need to pay another visit soon

The food here is AMAZING!!! They serve many interesting dishes that you can't usually find at other Japanese restaurants in Melbourne.I highly recommend their Teriyaki Wagyu yakiniku wrapped with carrot and beans. The wagyu was so juicy, tender, and tasty and the veggies added even more flavour and texture to the dish.I also highly recommend their Kingfish Sashimi. It was high-quality and delicious.Their Agedashi Tofu with Eggplant was great as well. It was served in a really lovely, gentle mushroom sauce.Lastly, their Chicken Katsu Curry was so nice and flavourful. There is also an Eggplant Katsu Curry on their menu - an option for vegetarians. The restaurant has a cute, funky, retro interior.

I really like their teishoku. A variety of dishes and you can choose the meat that you like to go with it. If you don’t feel like having rice, you have the option to close ramen. All the dishes tasted great. I will definitely come back to try other dishes. Love it!
