Bidjigal Reserve

Nice little green strip in the back of the hills. Great variety of plants and animals. Can feel like you aren't even in the city at points - good way to take a local nature break. Nice series of pools and mini falls along Excelsior creek - great for sitting at and enjoying the serenity.Mostly well marked trails. Easy to follow. Platypus (blue) trail is pretty low intensity - couple of hills, but nothing crazy steep or difficult to get over. Maybe some loose stones, or the odd tree root. Suitable for nearly all ages/abilities.Yellow and red trails are longer, with one or two points that require a bit of rock scrambling/creek crossing. Maybe not suitable for those with mobility issues, but accessible to most.

Great to go on a nature trail with family. The path is mostly plain with little trek involved… kids had a great time walking through the paths checking out the flora around. Handy hint - good to leave some clues to trace the way back. We went into the reserve from the last picnic area near tennis courts. This entrance is close to Ted Harwood oval.

So convenient. Great for walking and trail runs when you just want to stay local. Safe, easy to navigate and just beautiful.

Very easy trail with loads of cool crossings and scenery!

Great place to take your pet for hike. You might get lost as it may not be a round trail so come back using the same way back. Telling from experience.

Used to be a great bush walking spot however now I can't recommend it just due to the fact that the river is contaminated with raw sewage and it turned the water from clear into ink black and it stinks. The main trails are well maintained and for those looking for adventure there are plenty of hidden paths in plain sight around the reserve but be warned they are poorly maintained so make sure to take care. They range from a quick way down to a lookout. Just don't be afraid to explore.

It's a great reserve for a walk with the dog. The only downside is the traffic noise at the M2 end.

Great reserve and not far from the city. Not too difficult track, and fantastic spot for the dogs to have a run and splash.

Great location for a casual Bush walk or comfortable trail run. If you head in just after a downpour you get some nice waterfalls, but some creek crossings will mean you'll get your feet wet Popular with the locals and variety of trails, in length and difficulty, but nothing overall too hard.

My family loves to go here! It is always relaxing and a great place to be with nature and have some fresh air and clear your mind. The path is a combination of flats, and rocky parts which is manageable to handle. My kid loves it and we never get tired visiting it.
